Imo they should introduce it next year, as an answer to upcomming 400Z.

Hope some reliable info will be released towards the end of the year, as I wanted to order a Supra early next year.

I wonder how much acceleration will suffer due to manual tho... :/

A lot. 0-60 might be ok if 60 can be reached in 2nd gear, but beyond that it'll really be a lot slower. The manual will be for the "purists" lol. Don't expect many of them to sell. You have to remember, a ton of people crying about it on the internet how "it's just a BMW" and "it has to have a stick" can barely afford a new 86, let alone a Supra. They all want a manual Supra, but if they're able to afford it, is a whole other matter. I've driven manuals my whole driving life, cars and semi trucks, and it's just a huge step backwards. Next thing you know people will want drum brakes instead of disc :p

I'm comming from tunned 86 and manual there adds to the experience ;)
After driving auto last year I decided to go with auto coz its sooogoood and I wanted it for the faster times on track and I thought manual is not comming anyway but... this new info makes me think about it again. Its a last hurray for a manual sports cars, I'll drive autos plenty in the future so maybe I should give it a go...
But I'm different, I'm going for a base 2.0 since its below 1400kg in EU spec, should be even lighter with manual (maybe around 1365kg so 30kg less), then throw some suspension and brakes on it and tune to 320hp. And thats why I'm concerned about acceleration since 2.0 is not powerfull already but auto helps to overcome some of this with its fast shift times.
So I guess U can call me purist ;)

We will see how it turns out.

I could care less if the manual is slower. It’s more fun to use and that’s rather the point of a more or less pointless and impractical sportscar — to have fun with it.

In not very long there will be plenty of time to choose from a range of new cars which all have automatics, or 2-3 automatic/automated gears or no transmissions at all.

For right now, the few new manual cars still available are generally fun to drive models.

If the 2.0L is the only volume production variant that gets a manual option then it’s going to definitely need another 100-150hp via parts and a custom tune. And an uprated suspension. And an aftermarket or BMW parts-bin LSD. And 3.0 Supra front brake calipers.

A GRMN manual is an awesome if for most unattainable super limited prospect. A volume Supra 3.0 B58D manual is what most buyers want.

If they give manual to 2.0 it MAY weight around 1360-1370kg (the difference between PDK 718 and manual is actually 40kg), easier to cut under 1350kg from that point. Then some suspension, some brakes, lighter, lower driver seat and maybe later down the line mechanical LSD. Tune it to 300-320hp on top of it.
Fingers crossed, lets see in the end of the year how it turns out.

^^ It would be annoying if that were it.

Especially since EAG proved that a particular BMW 520D 6-speed manual gearbox will bolt up to the B58C (not sure if the B58D would accept the same bell-housing).

But... any manual Supra is still a good thing. It just means the immediate squeezing of an additional 100hp+ from that B48.

At the very least this means the physical parts to install a manual in any MKV Supra will be easier to get hold of with higher volumes of them produced.
