Any benefits using 93 octane on stock car vs 91 octane? I know that it does makes a difference with a tune but what about stock? 2021 having lower compression ratio, does it makes any diff 93 vs 91. Thanks guys!

If you have it available, run it. Couple bucks a tank for a little extra piece of mind, maybe a little more power, so why not.

If your driving ā€œspiritedā€ and the air temps are high (i.e. summer) I would think there could be some benefit to 93 as their is less of a chance the timing will need to be trimmed back.

Most manufacturer horsepower ratings are based on 93 for their performance vehicles. For example my GT350 was rated at 526 hp*. The * would refer the reader to to a disclaimer saying that the rating is lower on 91.

Thereā€™s no 93 in my area but I plan on stocking some octane booster and add it after every fill up with 91 to get to 93 level.

Be careful with octane boosters as they can damage your O2 sensors earlier. At least some back in the day did, but donā€™t know if they have gotten any better.

That seems like a lot of effort for possibly questionable gain on a stock car. I would just run 91 on a stock tune :dunno:

I agree. On the stock tune it's probably about 10 hp difference.
