What other vehicle were you thinking of buying, if you did not buy the Supra?

Yes was also looking at an evora which has the Toyota 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 engine. But the loud exhaust and lack of warranty (used) had me concerned.

Anyone driven an evora or lotus for that matter? The hydraulic steering is the best is the business so they say.

I can completely see your points. I didn't get to drive the car so I didn't get a feel for it but do understand how the engine layout really affects the driving feel. I had looked at and drove a Golf R a month ago and while it was fun, it didn't wow me and I'm sure you would get used to the car very quick and start dumping money into mods when you could of just went with something else from the get go.
I've always thought the Golf R was a really nice looking hatch. They seem really classy looking. I got to drive a GTR the other day, and I think that that is probably the only car that has really wowed me. The GTR was just a visceral experience. It reminded me of the first time I drove an RX8, but in a different way. You just feel like something is special with some cars. I love the Supra, but I still wish it had more of that visceral type experience to it. Something that made it feel as unique as it looks.

I've never driven a Lotus, but I've always wanted to. I've heard great things about the steering. Supposed to just be an amazing driving experience.

I've been saying that the Golf R for me is the car I should buy but not really the car I want LOL. It really checks a ton of boxes. I was probably a little too harsh on my comment regarding them. While it didn't completely wow me I still had a lot of fun driving it. The price is appealing as well! A person would have to buy used though as they've stopped production while we are waiting on the new version but isn't due until late 2021 or sometimes 2022.

I've only spent a short bit of time behind a GTR and it was on track. It was lovely and really ate up the road course. I didn't get to spend any time seeing how it's road manners were though. I also drove a Huracan that same day on track which kind of over shadowed the GTR experience.

Gotcha. The GTR is for sure the fastest/most exotic car I have ever driven. I test drove a 2016. I expected it to ride pretty harsh, but I was surprised at how relaxed the ride was cruising on the highway, even in R mode hitting some cracks in the road, etc. I guess coming from an RX8 and driving my father's Miata occasionally, a lot of things will feel better.

That's good to hear. Did the transmission seem 'clunky' or anything at low speeds?

I would say the only clunks I really appreciated at low speeds were really low and either with intially rolling from stop or right before the stop. But I was surprised that I never really felt the clunks. Could only hear them here and there. I left that drive very impressed.

Was between:

1. Lexus RC-F
2. M2 Competition
3. M4 (CPO)
4. 2nd owner GT-R

I definitely feel like I made the right choice.
I had a 2015 Lexus RC F. It was a great car but I like the Supra more. They both ride smoothly and can be used as a daily driver, if that is what you want. The Supra is faster, even stock. They both have a great exhust note.... although the RC F exhaust sounds better... the Supra exhaust is just more interesting because of the pops and crackles. I love the interior of both cars, but the lexus is more luxurious. However, the Supra just seem to fit me better...just how I feel behind the wheel. The sound system is great on both in my opinion. Can't go wrong with either. I would take the Supra every single time although I loved my RC F!!!

Does anyone wish they'd got one of the other cars on their list? 2 days into Supra ownership and i'm not too sure i made the right choice.
Nope, not me. The wait for the C8 was too long and I modified my Supra. It will destroy the C8. Plus I hear the C8 is having some major issues. Don't regret a thing. Now, I want a used black Lexus LC 500 for my Luxury GT, while the Supra (white Launch Editon) will be my fun sports car. The C8 Corvette Z06 could make me change my mind, but price and reliability will play a major role in my decision. Plus the 2nd year C8 Z06 is like a million years away..lol.

Hey guys - this thread caught my eye. I've had my 2021 Supra reserved for several months now - still waiting for it to arrive. The GTR has always been a dream car to me, but so has the Supra. I've done some cross shopping as a result (wife didn't let me know she would be ok with a GTR until after the deposit was on the Supra). I've seen a few 1-2 owner GTRs on the market (2014-2016 MY) with less than 20k miles and well maintained by some older, responsible seeming guys. The cars I've been looking at are also stock. Prices are less than $70k. Curious to see if those numbers would change your opinions?

Still love the Supra, and still excited to get it, but I do also wish it had a little more drama to it. Can always mod it with bolt-ons, but then your warranty is likely shot.
Mod the Supra and you will get some real drama...lol. I modded mine and it is like the 720s considering how it shocks people with how fast it is. My next mod is a Pure 800 turbo. So far, the car seem to be reliable, so the warranty will not matter. The warranty never come into play with a good reliable car. Hope I didn't jinx myself...lol.

I find it funny a lot of people were talking about the M2 Competiton.

I actually ended up choosing that over the Supra. However things happened where i cant daily drive a Manual Car anymore, so i'm switching over to the Supra which was my second choice.

Will be curious to read your thoughts on the switchover. Post photos of both as well.

I was very, very close to getting a ZL1 1LE but couldnā€™t quite justify $80K all-in. Plus I was a little leery about how practical it was on a day-to-day basis, even if I wasnā€™t driving it every day. There was a part of me that worried Iā€™d want to sell it after a year or two. That and when I saw the Supra in person, I just knew it was the right car for me.

With 650 lbft of TQ and only .4 secs faster 0-60 than a stock MKV... the one thing you can guarantee is you'll be spending much less on both gas and brake pads. ;)

Plus (though this could be a minus depending on how anti-social you are) I still have at least one person every day comment on my car. Unlike on the interwebs, those comments are always positive. I've even had a few instances where people asked if they could take selfies with the car in the background. One of them was driving a newish Carrera at the time - LOL (Naturally, I offered to do a straight trade with him).

With the ZL1 you'd get similar treatment from real Chevy enthusiasts, but to everyone else - it would be "just another Camaro".
