Hey guys, so I have a 2020 Supra with 700 miles, and I bought my bootmod3 cable. I try uploading the stage 1 93 tune, and it always gets to 93%, then starts clearing the primary codes, and then secondary codes, then it will fail. The car won’t even start, so I have to upload the stock file. Any one have any info on what’s going on? The battery is Brand new, so the battery is definitely alive. I’m a little confused. I even tried uploading a standard map with no customization or nothing. I also disabled all the firewall stuff. Here’s the error.

Had this happen to a buddy with an M340i, your DME is probably locked. You’d need a bench unlock flash first then you can tune the vehicle.

Really I’d have to bench it? Why would mine be locked and all the other 2020 supras that are bm3 tuned aren’t. Maybe it’s because I haven’t hit the break in period yet(1200miles)?

Wouldn’t be because of the break in. Some 2020s were locked due to an update pushed through the dealers around December 2019 if I recall correctly. There was a few threads about it.

If the car doesn't start after flashing it, then there may be another issue. If the car is locked than BM3 cannot alter the engine program. As for 2020 veihcles there are tons of later build dates, as well as dealer updated vehicles that can no longer program via the OBD diagnostic port. Go to you vehicle info tab and I can tell you if your diagnostic port is locked. However this issue may be best working with BM3 if its not flasing all the way.

00006354-060-120-006 is in fact a locked DME. You unfortunately need to have this bench unlocked to re-enable the diagnostic port. I usually offer this service for EcuTek tunes but I haven't tried to do it with BM3.
Damn, so this is 1000% locked? That’s why it wasn’t uploading the full file? Thank god I could still re flash to stock... the car wouldn’t start after the upload failed 2-3 times

Yes the "120" portion is the locked version on most of the 19/20 vehicles. =(
