PSA for EVERYONE.
Two things here:
1. Please do not let a tuner/shop/parts reseller sell you an EcuTek Kit with the intentions to tune your car without mentioning the possibility of your ECU being locked first. People do not unlock ECU's for EcuTek for free. It is an expense and it is not cheap. People wont mention this to you when selling you EcuTek / Tune as they dont want to scare you away of a possible additional expense. - Is your ECU locked? Possibly, while it could also be unlocked. ALL 2021 Models are LOCKED and will be required to be unlocked. You will need to mail your ECU in for this to be done unless you are with a tuner who can do it for you in person. The tooling to unlock for EcuTek is different than for MHD/BM3. Please use an authorized EcuTek unlock station!
2. Flex Fuel Kits - Yes, if you already have EcuTek, RaceROM SUPPORTS flex fuel tuning now. This does not mean you install a flex fuel kit and are ready to roll. To be able to use flex fuel it does require custom tuning. Please dont let someone sell you a flex fuel kit and think you're able to slap it on and be done. You do need to contact your tuner after and get re-tuned.
I experience messages daily from guys who get sold this stuff and these things were never mentioned to them. Enough to where I feel I needed to make this post with hopes to eliminate a few of those messages. Lol. This should clear up a few things.
