I rather like the looks. Given the use of the existing platform and the challenges of packaging, crashworthiness, etc. I feel they pulled off a really nice look at the front and rear. The 1969 240Z inspired front and 1990 300ZX rear are both timeless classic designs and I was very curious to see how they would both blend in this car.

I do feel the MKV Supra looks more beautiful overall but this Z looks great in its own right.

Starting out with a VR30 (presumably?) V6 twin turbo engine and a manual transmission, plus a new or revised automatic option ticks all the main equipment boxes. The interior looks good: updated and modern but not utterly dominated by awful touchscreens everywhere. And the dash mounted gauges are a very nice touch.

In a car market increasingly infested and dominated by with ever greater numbers of barf-worthy crossovers and city SUVs (the recent Bronco being a welcome exception) this sportscar is yet another breath of fresh air.

Hopefully it will sell, including the manual editions. Nissan has far more to get right at the moment other than just their Z but so far it looks like they're on the right track.

This is not a concept. They never called it a concept. It's a prototype of a production car.
True and important distinction but itā€™s still not the final production version of the car. Some of the details are going to change.

Sad that it won't be imported in Europe.
Also read the news indeed that the new Z is not coming to Europe:

Autoweek.nl said:
Unfortunately also a less positive message. The newest member of the Z family is not coming to the Netherlands. In fact, he doesn't even come to Europe. "However, a shrinking European sports car market and specific emission regulations prevented Nissan from building a business case for the introduction of the next generation Z production version in Europe," said the manufacturer. "In Europe, Nissan's priorities remain on renewing the crossover range and electrifying the offering."

Nissan's Z adventure in Europe seems to have come to an end for the time being. The 370Z, presented in 2009, closes the Z book. Since the launch of that type, 84 copies have been sold in the Netherlands. In 2010 the car had its peak year, when 32 copies found a Dutch home. Predecessor 350Z scored significantly better. 605 copies of these have been sold in our country.

Just shows that developing an engine for a sports car to meet EU emissions standards isnā€™t economical and therefore makes no sense if itā€™s not to be used in any other cars intended for the EU Market.
So I guess this could be another reason why we should be thankful for Toyota partnering up with BMW.

100% correct on the BMW part.
The new GT-R will also not come to the EU market I guess (when they start developing)... unless when it is full electric :)

Tree-hugging EU :p

I watched the live stream. It seems like these guys had no passion for this car. And they kept using cheesy clique statements. It was so uncoordinated and poorly structured and moderated, it was tough to watch. The car itself looks like a 350z with some refreshed lights. The interior looks nice though. They should've focused more on the interior or the rear since the front is kinda ugly. The square grill kills me, it clashes with the rest of the design. I'm curious what kinda of auto they're going to put in. Everyone is "screaming" for a manual but no one will buy it anyway. All the other OEMs figured that out already.
