The covercraft UVS100 is typically designed to sit inside the windshield frame (like it does on every other car), but how are you getting the top to stay up? The sun visors on the Supra are too shallow to catch the top of the shade like they do in other cars.
Interesting. Sounds like they need to redesign it...

Right, well, they did redesign it :)

I worked back and forth with CoverCraft customer support regarding this. I guess I'm the one that @Kato should blame for his UVS100 being taller than the windshield frame. I'm just curious what others are doing to keep the UVS100 up against the windshield prior to the redesign, maybe I'm missing something.

Either way, customer service was very easy to work with. I'm sure if you contact them and tell them you want the original/shorter design, they will cut one up for you.

Here's the difference in size; the one on bottom is the 'revised', taller uvs shade. The one on top is lined up across the bottom so you can see the difference in height.

Because of the short visors in the Supra, if you pulled the original uvs shade up far enough for the visor to catch, there was about a 2" gap along the bottom exposing the dashboard (and this would also leave the same gap at the top as the taller version).

I agree with @Kato with the taller design it leaves a gap up top between the uvs shade and the windshield itself (since it sits against the headliner), but without modifying or putting some extension on the Supra visors, or leaving part the dashboard exposed, the coverage is still better on the taller version.

Can you post a picture of this in your car please? Iā€™m interested in getting this. Thanks!
Sure can. I have this one in my phone, Iā€™ll get a better one when Iā€™m with the car!

I obviously have the shorter version.
I have
1. A valentine one attached to my rear view and
2. A brown that covers the very top.

Mine slides into the bottom of the windshield between the dash pretty good and stays up without need of the visors holding them. It also slides right past my radar without need to remove it. Overall, the couple inches at the top arenā€™t a big deal.

I wonder if covercraft would send me a revised version for free to test. I might like the smaller one better, I def donā€™t want it sitting on my headliner.

Did you purchase both or did covercraft send you the revised for free? Iā€™d like to try the revised one but Iā€™m satisfied with the smaller one so I donā€™t want to pay for it lol.
Regarding how to keep the old design up, it slides in between the dash and the windshield and works fine for me

if you donā€™t want it to sit between your headliner and the flip forward visors, you donā€™t want the taller version :)

if I wedge the shorter one between the bottom of the windshield and dash it does technically stay, but the top sags down quite a bit away from the glass. Better than no shade at all, but not ideal. Also the newer one has slightly smaller opening around the rear view.

the revision came with a return shipping label but they told me not to bother shipping back the original.

This was back in January, so the car was newer and the world was still normal. Different times.

So are you guys saying that if I get the taller, revised version then it stays in place with the sun visors flipping down and holding them in place, but I wonā€™t be able to have my radar detector attached to the windshield near the top?

If I ask for the shorter one then it just wedges between the dash and windshield and nothing is really holding it up, but at least thereā€™s space for my radar detector, right?

Before any of you pull the trigger on this, know that I talked to Covercraft Support lately and there was no mentioning of shorter version or redesign version. The lady was firm about their design and even told me that this is a popular part for the Supra without a lot of returns - obviously this is not true.

FYI - I called twice on different days and spoke with the same lady. It seems she is the sole Customer Support person and must be well aware of the situation discussed here.

I returned mine at my own shipping cost and still have not gotten a refund. I am definitely NOT happy with Covercraft.

Anyone know of a cheap sunvisor to reduce heat in the cabin while its parked that fits the supra?
