I have the OBDLink Mx+ however I can only read the codes with the car running and when I go to erase the codes it errors since the car is on . When I try to read the codes by simply turning ignition on by just pressing the start button and no brake there is no cel light and it reads no codes . Any idea on how I can reset the cel light ? Even tried a older wired scanner and same thing can’t reset code with the car running . Yet won’t show the code without it running . Weirddd . It’s a 02 code for my catless down pipe .

Never tried resetting with MX+, but do you have tune on yours? Can't recall. I believe you have dp, intake, pipes.
If not most straight answer is have your tune (bm3, mhd, ...) map it to ECU.

to read codes, the car needs to be in diagnostic mode.... IE- 3 fast presses of the Engine start button, not just 1 press which is like accessory mode. There are some codes that will not clear with the engine running and logic written to require an ignition cycle to clear and reset the checks.

You’re the man , code was reset . Couldn’t clear the permanent one but got my cel off now . I was in only accessory mode as you stated . Knew I was missing something simple .

Just the permanent p0420 I posted in the earlier screen shot . Cleared the rest but the permanent saved . Made it about 30 miles and cel came back . To be expected though with a catless down pipe and intake . After I get it tuned this upcoming week should be good to go
