Could I check if the crash bar section on the passenger side had a ready spot to secure the second horn? No drilling needed? There is only 1 original single note horn installed on the driver’s side. Since I replaced it with 2 standard Lexus horns (1 high and 1 low note), the service tech put one on each side. Just run a patch cable from the driver side horn to the passenger side horn. See my original post #1 for pictures on this thread. It now sounds like my SUV, and NOBODY laughs at my horn anymore!
You already have 2 horns they happen to be high nos that's the main issueCould I check if the crash bar section on the passenger side had a ready spot to secure the second horn? No drilling needed?
I’m asking my local garage to help me add the low note Z4 horn, but they aren’t sure if the Supra crash bar is pre drilled as the Z4 is.
That’s odd, I’ve heard from several owners there’s only 1 high tone installed for the Supra. And I understand it is Identical to the high tone horn in the G29 Z4, which is paired to a separate low tone unit to form a pair. You already have 2 horns they happen to be high nos that's the main issue
Just after the horn installation Im having 3 prompts, heading says "supra driving assistance support reduced" now under thats says Pedestrian, front collision sensor and other one, does anybody now how to recalibrate de radar without taking it to the dealer? I tried to follow these instructions but had no luck findings these exact windows. No issues with the laser radar sensor.
After the dealer installed my 2 new horns (see my previous posts near the beginning of this thread), I got parking sensor warnings as soon as I started the car. The problem was the sensors were not properly reconnected during the reinstallation of the front bumper cover. Installation of 2 new horns has no impact on the cruise control radar or any other parking sensors.Just after the horn installation Im having 3 prompts, heading says "supra driving assistance support reduced" now under thats says Pedestrian, front collision sensor and other one, does anybody now how to recalibrate de radar without taking it to the dealer? Do you have a sound clip or video of the Z4 low horn and the Supra high horn installed?Hello all,
Just finished fixing my horn.
So what I did basically is I bought the low note horn only from the BMW dealership (around $50) since the Supra already has the high note horn installed, and it's the same one exactly as the Z4's. Removed the front bumber (didn't have to remove the LED lights), ran a wire through the pre installed horn connection in the driver's side and extended it to the passenger's side.
Whole job took around 2 hours and about $100. The task was easier than what other members have suggested because in our location the Supra comes without any front parking sensors or lane assist radar, so the front bumber was pretty much easy to remove and didn't have any wirings.
Surely the Z4's horn doesn't sound the best, but at least adding the low note makes it much more tolerated and louder compared with having the high note installed alone.
Hope this helps
Ha ha I had one of those on my moped as a lad ,frightened a few people.Without removing bumper, only solution is to not use it.
