In for updates on what you find out/decide to do. I’m stock now but very interested in running an e50 map or true flex fuel tune (93-e50) but if it can’t be done in a safe/conservative manner on the stock turbo I’m going to lose interest, at least until a turbo swap or whatever other supporting mods.
I have had zero turbo failures on the cars I have tuned. But I have seen some randomly fail that were tuned by friends of mine. There may be a mild quality control issue going on. I have plenty of people running stock turbo on flex fuel maps. I did it my self for 10k miles and I tapped over 30PSI for a bit in the low end trying to see if my turbo would fail. I would never push anyones car that aggressively without being very clear.

As far as pure turbos I run one on my personal car at 700HP. Spiking 30+PSI at some points if I recall. Runs great. Ive put 6-7k mlies on this setup so far. I offer tuning bundles with pure turbos as well

Just logged the car. Turbo is gone. Looked for shaft play. And it’s loose. Turbine is not stiff at all. Definitely broken. Oil everywhere. Updating to pure 800

That is good to hear. Thanks for the reply.

Is 100whp over stage 2 pump gas not enough :D
Honestly I should’ve gone with pure from the get go. It’s such a reliable turbo and we can push up to “800” hp. Hence the name. With downpipe meth and now with port injection for full E. I don’t see why 600-700 hp won’t be achievable. I won’t be pursuing this power tho. I will be happy with 550-575. 93 pump for daily and e50 for track. Lower psi

Personally I dont like pushing them past 550-600HP on meth. Once ou push further than that the front cylinders run too lean and ive personally killed plugs before. Meth is not a substitute for port injection. You really need fueling for each individual cylinder. Mind you I have pushed deep into the 600's with just meth and some spiked fuel in my tank but its not a good idea. I dont like pushing more than about 50-75HP over the base fuel with meth.

The turbo if you over spin it has enough power for 700-750 wheel due to some innefficencies in the motor. (the car doesn't build top end power efficently). Overall its a great turbo, holding reliable, and great value. Once you pass about 650HP the trans starts to slip so the top mount big turbo kits become quit expensive quite fast if you want to fully uitlize them. Pure just fits in the stock location and costs a fraction the amount. This is why i use them for a lot of my builds. =)

Awesome:). Im personally not a fan of meth. I may go port injection in the future. Definitely will stay away from 650 lol
