- 1999 Miata (turbo build). Soon to be 2020 LE Supra being purchased for a manual-swap project.
You're exactly right. Personally, I'm holding onto my money until Toyota releases a manual i6 Supra. If they don't do it in the next few years, then I'll probably breakdown and buy something else . Having recently driven a GT350, I'm REALLY tempted to just pull the trigger on one of those, which is funny because I don't normally like American Muscle at all. However, if this Z comes out and offers a great driving experience with a manual, they'll likely get my money.I think the new Z looks good, but a little underwhelming after the teaser pics.
I much prefer the I6 in the Supra over the V6tt in the Z. It's smoother, sounds better, and will be able to make more power in the aftermarket.
The biggest thing the new Z has going for it is the manual transmission, which will definitely steal buyers away from the Supra. The ball is in Toyota's court now, they must deliver a manual Supra before the Z comes out.
