So i wanted some input on anyone who just did a muffler delete on the stock setup. Did you keep or code away the active exhaust module, any drone and how is throttle response? I heard that back pressure can help with low end torque or hp and if removing the stock setup will not help you unless you tune.

I deleted the muffler on a UK car.

I used a valve simulator plug from BMW to connect to the unused valve motor cable. No errors, codes or CEL. The BMW part no is BMW part 18302411427.

No noticeable difference on throttle response. Bear in mind UK cars have a GPF.

I find it absolutely fine. On steady cruise throttle or extended lift off it's stock quiet. On large throttle there is more noise. On lift off in sport mode there are decent pops and bangs.
Inside there is definitely more of a vibrationy buzz on acceleration, but I'm ok with it. Cruising on a motorway, steady throttle, no issue at all. Exhaust noise is highly subjective of course.

I don't think many do this because it's kind of ghetto/haggard tbh so I'm not sure you'll get many replies.

Lol its not ghetto. Some cars sound real good with muffler delete and its way cheaper then a whole new exhaust. I know for a fact a Muffler delete on the scat pack challenger really made the exhaust sound way better. Just would like to know before spending alot of money on a exhaust system just to get the same results with a muffler delete.

And how would u do “Muffler Delete “? Cut muffler off at the very end of mid pipes, then fab two pipes to exit? U still will have resonators on midpipe.

In theory reso is more for drone and muffler is for sound. So i would cut just after the reso and straight pipe from there. Muffler delete is hit or miss. It sounds either really good or really bad on most cars. If i go with a Downpipe i wouldnt really need a muffler delete though.

I was looking at Kook's muffler deletes. They normally are a domestic performance exhaust company, and I know they make high quality parts. They have polished and black tip versions for the Supra, for a pretty good price point.

I am eyeing those too. let me know if you do.

I still have to install my DP.

fwiw i had a muffler delete/mod on a FBO and tuned N54 and it was kind of obnoxious honestly. I loved the sound, little drone at certain speeds, but other drivers did NOT tailgate at speed it was blasting them at hwy speeds.

Hey,
I am in the UK and am looking at a muffler delete. What did you use/where did you buy?
Many thanks.
