  1. Article - Akio Toyoda's Sports Car (and FT-1 Supra) Problem

Seems like the Supra MKV may be priced in the ballpark of a M4 coupe which starts in the mid 60's but the M4 coupe seems to sell pretty well. Why wouldn't the Supra sell just as well? Is it a matter of perceived quality at this price range, with a German brand more 'worth the money' at the same...
  2. Red Toyota FT-1 Concept at Various Auto Shows & Events

Speaking of the wing, I love how it's a 2 part actuating process when deployed. It not only rises up from the trunk but then also tilts for a better angle at the end of the actuation. Here it is in action. Imagine seeing that go up on the road
  3. The MKIV vs MKV Thread

The new IS-F is supposed to be a high performance version of the IS right? If so, then woudn't it share the same V8 engine as the RC-F since the RC is basically just the coupe version of the IS?
  4. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

What you think? I like it more than the convertible renderings. Looks more exotic.
  5. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

  6. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

That shooting brake / hatch version looks kinda cool :)
  7. Toyota may build Supra convertible / targa instead of 86 convertible

Yea it would. Supra targa always been a dream of mine.
  8. Toyota FT-1 concept & A90 Supra design dissected

Worst corporate style front has to be the Acura beak design. It's too bad they didn't' use the NSX to totally change up the look, but instead went with the same look which results in the worst angle on the NSX. I don't know many people who like the Acura front end design as it is.
  9. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

I'd place my money on it getting a manual. Just not sure what the other transmission option will be - auto or DCT, and only because there's currently no dual clutch in Toyota's lineup to pick from. What I hope they don't do is cop out and stick an auto in it and try to make up for it with...
  10. Red Toyota FT-1 Concept at Various Auto Shows & Events

Miss the days when there were many Japanese sports cars available, even from individual manufacturers. It's sad to see the cars that got the axe in the last couple decades - Supra, rx7/8, 300zx, s2000, mr2, eclipse, Evo, celica etc.
  11. Will FT-1 concept follow the FT-86 timeline?

The car might not be available yet but at least we know the supra is likely gonna be made considering how strong economies and car sales are right now. Some great concept cars have never been made just cuz of bad timing with a bad economy. For ex. the second gen NSX concept was introduced in...
  12. Hybrid Supra Rumors & Chatter / B58 hybrid

Affordable? i guess it is all relative, none of those cars are even close to affordable to me. With prices of even historically cheap v8's from the domestic co's reaching into the $50's fully optioned. toyota will have a hard enough time keeping it affordable with a regular turbo V6 nevermind a...

What is the cheapest hybrid sports car out there?
  14. Toyota FT-1 Concept on Jay Leno's Garage

Bet he ends up adding the new badboy to his garage once it comes out.
  15. Will FT-1 concept follow the FT-86 timeline?

What a shame seeing the V8's die off while gas prices are now falling through the floor and predicted to be that way for a long time.
  16. Should Toyota Supra keep FT-1 2+2 configuration? Or lose backseats?

2+2 cars cost more to insure than 2 seaters?
  17. Toyota FT-1 concept & A90 Supra design dissected

What are those fans anyway - just for looks? Never seen fans like that on a car.
  18. MKV Toyota Supra Photoshops & Renders based on FT-1 & Prototypes

A render using LF-LC rear and adding high wing spoiler and MKIV style tail lights.
  19. Self driving cars

Companies are going to keep developing this whether we like it or not. Whether lawmakers allow fully autonomous cars (like ones without steering wheels) on the road is another matter.
  20. What are you ok / not ok with new Supra sharing with BMW

Link? I must've missed that. Are we sure this is the collaboration for a jointly developed sports car?
