Hey Bryan, do you happen to know the part # for the silver attachment above that the vibration dampener bolt attaches to? Lucky Phil has made me second guess myself and I was going to reinstall the dampener but I can't find that piece.
Dude, I hit 27 of them last autocross season. That gave me the win for the coveted 2023 Cone Killer award. Cone marks come right off with a little Meguiers Scratch Out. Both of the plastic air dam pieces in the front are gone though.
Woke it up from the Winter's nap long enough to install a Blitz bar I picked up from forum member Ale81. Also checked the mouse traps and freshened the peanut butter while I was out there. Back to sleep until the first 2024 AX in mid-March. Winters suck...
Itās a vibration dampener. So my car may vibrate more without it but I sure canāt tell any difference. I also read somewhere that itās more important for the Z4 being a convertible. Iād bet you couldnāt tell a difference on a Z4 either though. Mine has been a paper weight for several years now.
If the new one from the GF is still unopened you may have an easier time returning that one. And even if it is opened it may still be easier to return it as long as it's not been installed. Even if there's a restocking fee it would likely be worthwhile to save the hassle.
I used a couple small black zip ties on mine. I lost two of those stupid tabs. The zip ties work perfectly and you canāt see them unless you know to look for them.
