I believe the bigger concern is it can reduce the life expectancy of a very expensive to replace battery. That and also that a bunch of dealers early on allowed batteries to discharge completely that somehow really messes things up and resulted in several cases where the dealers had to replace...

I don’t have access to my car now but if it were me I’d center it (left/right) with either the middle of the Toyota badge above or center it with the license plate holder below. As far as placement on the trunk lid it seems it should be centered (up/down) there as well.
