I put in 0.1q extra into mine, and it's nearly to MIN after 2500 miles. The key part being it went from MAX to MIN within the last 200 miles. I think there's just too many examples of this for it to be a mix-up or mistake of that nature.
I check the oil level in my garage after virtually every drive.
200 miles ago: MAX
~75 miles ago:. 20% below MAX
Now:. 20% above MIN
Crazy part is now it's barely smoking at all, but the exhaust has had the unmistakable smell of oil since about 1200 miles. Oil level didn't budge between 1200...
Weeeeee, every expensive car I ever own that isn't a Porsche has model-wide engine problems (Gen 5 Viper was last), Raptor also.
Tick below "Max" last time I parked the car. Had a spirited 70 mile drive this evening... Tick above "min" now.
15 years ago you wouldn't even notice an issue for engines that are reaching the low warning at 4500 miles. Most cars replace oil at a 5000 mile interval so being down 1-1.5 quarts wouldn't even be on the radar.
Interested in seeing what results folks are getting from this metric. I know it's not the standard 60-130mph but that extra 30mph aren't worth testing several times in my opinion. No kilometer nonsense, just 40-100mph, and what mods got you to those numbers.
I'll start:
MST intake
E35 fuel...
Oh a ton every time I stop and then pull away and turn left, no pics but it's literally dripping on the floor and staining my tiles on cold starts when moisture is washing it out.
Ticked over 2000 miles since my oil change, my entire exhaust is coated with oil from my turbo seal failing, and just saw this after another night abusing the car. Ruh roh
Somewhat of a side note, but for those that did their own first oil change, did you guys see a lot of copper glitter? It's been years since I've done the first oil change on a motor, and don't recall the amount of bearing material in the oil. I didn't see an alarming amount, but it was...
This is a genuine issue. A quart in less than 1000 miles is major problems... Unlike about 75% of the people saying they also have an issue (for shit like a quart every 3000 miles).
Amazing how light it is, post sound clips when you get it installed, this is the best I have so far, in-car with the windows up. If you're installing it yourself, let me know if you have any questions. Also, make sure you tighten it down after a few drives, it will come loose a bit, ask me how...
Clearly this was a lie. When I read that I knew they wouldn't be able to sign off on a BMW motor because they all have catastrophic defects. Not sure of a single modern BMW engine that would compare to a typical Toyota V6 in terms of reliability. The fact that Toyota just dropped in a B58 with...
Just installed these today, and for some reason the rear driver's side standoffs were about 1/4 inch too long. Ruined a Dremel cutting wheel and nearly 30 minutes later it was together. We'll see how long they stay on the car. Honestly doesn't look like a long-lasting product.
Just drive it around without more than about 50% throttle and you'll be fine. Honestly the dme should adjust timing to make it safe on low grade fuel, just more consumption and less power.
Titan motorsports exhaust didn't even come close to fitting out of the box and the modifications I made to mount it and not touch the bumper have somehow been undone. So the exhaust melted the bumper and the tip has plastic adhered to it.
Any ideas on how to clean it off? I considered melting...
