What do you mean it can't be a great engine?
  2. What It Would Take to Give the 2020 Toyota Supra the Manual Gearbox It Deserves

To be fair, BMW themselves offered a manual M5 and M6 in the US that they did not sell anywhere else in the world.
  3. 2020 Toyota GR Supra Photoshop Thread (based on production car)

I’m going to be that guy, but the Supra can’t really have a FMIC. It has a water to air intercooler.
  4. 2020 Toyota GR Supra Photoshop Thread (based on production car)

I actually think the S55 is quite a pretty engine by today's standards.
  5. U.S. Supra Ordering: Pricing and Availability Details! Have You Ordered?

I just got out a F80 M3. My parents had a E92 335i when I was younger. They are very different. The M3 was brutal, it had instant torque and could light the tires up in 3rd if you tried. But, what it had in power, it lacked in finesse. It just wasn't all that much fun on back roads unless you...
  6. Shoulda just used the V35A-FTS from the LS500

Eh, I would like to point out there is a Regera/Chiron killer from Toyota... the GR Super Sport.

The 48 and 58 are basically identical other than cylinder count, so I assume any changes made to one carried over to the other.
  8. U.S. Supra Ordering: Pricing and Availability Details! Have You Ordered?

  9. Engineering Explained: B58 Engine

Yes, Darton makes some. But I think that it will be a while before anyone feels the need to upgrade liners. The B58 Revision has a much higher HPFP pressure at 5000 psi. That is 2,100 more than the old B58 and
  10. Engineering Explained: B58 Engine

Again I will point out the VR38DETT also is aluminum, also has no liners, also has plasma sprayed super thin bore coatings, and it is capable of absolutely stupid amounts of power.
  11. Engineering Explained: B58 Engine

Water meth injection with a JB4 controlling is the cheap and easy way to go. Plus logging capabilities are welcome.
  12. U.S. Toyota Dealers without Mark Ups

Yes I agree. I myself have done this. However, this is what happens with nearly all new limited release cars. Of course you always will risk not getting the car, but it definitely gives you a very large chance. For example, if you wait until after the car is in dealers, those who placed...
  13. U.S. Toyota Dealers without Mark Ups

There's no preorder option in the US like there is in Europe. Essentially, what you can do is call around bigger dealers and ask if they are willing to take a deposit for a Supra. The issue is if you wait, you won't get one for a loonggg time.
  14. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

I think A70TTR already confirmed that the next 86 is dead due to interest in other projects.
  15. Toyota Presents World Debut of the New 2022 GR 86

I think A70TTR already confirmed that the next 86 is dead due to interest in other projects.
  16. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

my biggest problem with it is it’s size. It is a fairly massive car and judging by the shape it looks like it would be terrible practicality wise.
  17. The MKIV vs MKV Thread

I have heard of very few issues for these engines. I have never heard of rod issues and most of the other complaints are from very early cars. They don’t really appear much if at all.
  18. Analysis, Comments & Reactions from the Web about the new Supra

Jesus, grammar is a thing lol. You're, have, etc.
  19. The new Supra is sitting at Toyota HQ lobby in Plano TX (+various Centers & Dealers)

I think it will probably be fine once in the car, but ingress may be an issue.
  20. 2020 Toyota Supra production to begin 2018, by Magna Steyr, Austrian manufacturer

It is a BMW and a Toyota. I am certain it will be 5 star. And it has all the active safety stuff, too.
