Ok, but lets be honest here. The Lexus systems are pretty garbage. I have never used any of the pads or mice and found them intuitive. The iDrive system is arguably a lot easier to use. Not to mention the fact that it is more responsive.
If you think the chassis doesn't matter then you are ignoring its key benefit. The chassis is what allows you to really dial in the car as a whole. If the platform sucks, the car as a whole suffers. Again, I think people are too focused on just going fast in a straight line. This car is honestly...
Yea could say I'm cross-shopping. However, in my experience, dealers will rarely totally remove a markup, and any markup is too much for me to be willing to pay. So what I am saying is if they give me that spiel, I will just walk away from our current deal and go buy something else.
It’s not as easy as it sounds. Everything would have to be revised. Sensors, emissions, pistons, bearings, headers, turbos, etc. everything would be different and likely worse. Toyota once knew how to build inline 6’s. But with today’s requirements? Not so much.
I am starting to think that because the perceived performance vs. price, dealers will have to be careful with markups. I doubt anybody, including me, will be willing to pay much over sticker. I just do not think the car is worth anymore than its still admittedly large price tag.
I don’t think you could swap in a DCT. That is part that is too dependent on the motor, and I’m sure it is nearly impossible to get it to work with a totally different motor.
So in many of the drives, it seems like the Supra is actually a very good daily. I would assume most of the weight comes from the luxuries such as power seats and adjustable dampers, and it also comes from how much insulation is in the chassis.
