I don't mind being a lab rat (actually my car is a lab rat when it comes to tuning/wheels/brakes).
What bothers me is that ECUTEK wants the whole license cost for it.
My daily job is being in IT. And there, beta testers first get the software for free.. so development can get a lot of bug-input...
It is not about ECUTEK in general because yes they are great (same as on my GTR I am running a Link G4+ ECU -> installed by same tuner).
My tuner has 20 years of experience with tuning mostly JDM cars (ECUTEK, Haltech, Link, AEM, Syvecs, SCT, COBB,...).
Yes he has a huge experience with ECUTEK...
Currently it is not worth to switch to ecutek if you are having a custom tune flashed via MHD.
But over time once they have a full release, there will be a lot more options to play with.
From my point of view, I would be interested in for example the multiple maps (different horsepower...
Never had this problem.
I guess you are running the F+G version of the MHD software (there are two versions, make sure you got the correct one).
Otherwise, the procedure is as follows:
1. Hook up battery charger (not required but recommended in case you not daily your ride)
2. Get in the car...
Been a month since I last updated this thread.
We are still facing some issue with the turbo upgrade. Seems that even after the second attempt (when the new internals where in) something is going wrong. So it will be 'back to the drawing table'. Taking 3-4 weeks maybe before another redesign...
So true.
My own car will be insanely fast, far beyond the daily usability.
Will be fast enough to have serious fun on track, but it will never be a track monster to start doing "time attack". As it will still remain for 99% of the time my daily ride.
Just wait and see people.
Everybody is still forgetting that Europe is not getting this engine due to regulations (and most likely the rest of the world neither)
Tune your engine, crank up that horsepower and enjoy.
Who will own a Supra and keep it at its default configuration... most likely...
As I posted as well in the announcement thread:
Europe denied new 387hp Supra by emissions rules
So seems not to worry about aftermarket support... Europe will save the day ;):)
And if emission regulations tighten in US... 2020 model owners will have an advantage :p
Don't know if it has already been posted but:

Wondering if the EU version of the Supra will have the same differences.
We already know that the Z4 in Europe has the same engine as the Supra... so different than the US version.
Just to see if the 2021 model is actually a better engine or not (tuning wise)
Second thing I am wondering...
Forgot to mention indeed the 0-100km/h (62mph): it is 5.2 seconds
NEDC co-level at 143gr (WLTP co-level at 168gr)
3.0L = NEDC co-level at 170gr (WLTP co-level at 188gr)
Between 0 and 3000 is indeed the band where you would be in for 99% of the time when you drive the car daily.
So I agree with nksupra regarding that part. Not everybody is in it to drag/race it, but there is a market for people who want more power but don't want to sacrifice that torque/power in...
Correct. Below both starting prices from Belgium:
Outside 3D render of the 2.0L
Inside 3D render of the 2.0L (alcantara leather is default):
One option pack available for the 2.0L which includes:
Wireless charging
Heads-up display
JBL premium sound system
12 speakers
Black leather...
Unfortunately received some 'bad news' last week.
It seems that there is fabrication fault in the turbo. Seems not enough clearance on the internals when the turbo is running hot (metal expanding)
They will look into it this week and see how long it takes to fix the fabrication fault.
Well...
After some delay (due to a corrupt file), the 3D printed piece came finally in today.
If all goes well, the turbo gets installed tomorrow.
