Yesterday evening, I brought the supra to Custom Import Arts
Next week, they will start experimenting with this new turbo and see which results it gives in spool-up, power output,...
And while I was there... seen my R33 GT-R without the engine. She needs a rebuild:
True, but as you said... 99% of the people will not do that and will only go maybe 2-3 times a year on the track.
And those that weekly hit the drag (mostly not happening in Europe), will already have a tuner like yourself to tell them what they should think about :)
You see that on real...
Indeed, mine is a 100% custom tuned.
True, I think they are the only one in Europe who went that high in power (think it still is a 'European record'). They even double-checked on another tuners dyno to prove that indeed had these power levels :)
I have to say, they pushed the limits. But...
My European car (Belgium) is currently running just a catless downpipe, standard turbo and a "stage2" tune.
You can read/follow about it if you like in my thread.
Which kind of horsepower gains are you looking for in the end?
Mine is running 520HP at the engine on 93 octane (98 ron).
And that...
2800 miles, own it since last week of August.
But car has been in total sitting around 6 weeks in several shops, so could not drive it during those weeks :)
It has been a while since the last update.
The car was 2.5 weeks at Blitz Car Detailing for full detailing package.
She is now protected by PPF Ultra from Suntek + detailing and coating by LaboCosmetica.
Now I don't need to worry any longer about scratches and stone chips.
Was done with MHD as flash-tool
But it is a custom build map by the people of Custom Import Arts
And my Supra also has an adjusted BMW 330i downpipe installed.
So it is not the Stage1 or Stage2 tune that you can buy from MHD themselves.
Hard to tell without a diagnostic module attached, can be anything.
Best to let it read out by the dealer if you don't know anybody in your neighborhoud with a diagnostic module/app
For those other EU Supra owners, just made a video of my exhaust sound.
Unfortunately with my cell phone and fans blowing in the background.
But the bangs are definetely loud when you hear it in person.
The BMW fault code for this is actually stating: -> Catalytic converter: Efficiency too low
I am sometimes having the same code when daily driving my car, haivng also a downpipe. But thats normal as we have a front-cat in our EU cars
For our EU-spec cars, we can make the pops and bang louder with a modification in the ECU.
Mine is now loud as f*ck on downshifts with still the GPF and standard exhaust.
But during normal driving in sport, it is still too quiet indeed.
In normal mode as well, but I don't mind that as daily.
