There is an old thread existing, it are performance dampers:
https://www.supramkv.com/threads/gr-supra-parts-introductions-formerly-this-stb-intrigues-me.7199/
Pricey apparently, but I dig it for the tech :D
Don't know how good it performance (on track), compared to stock.
Love it, the racecapture pro
We will be using it as well in our 'skelta racecars', but current link ecu g4 does not have the proper canbus (it has old canbus, but nobody seems to know the hex codes)
What screen is that if I may ask? Looks sick :)
Depends on what the garage does:
If they only do normal oil change and some basic stuff, no your ECU will not be flashed.
However if they hook it up to the computer to check for latest software updates (and yes there are a lot more updates then the 'brake recall' -> recent one was couple of...
You're welcome.
Don't know if it would have better gains. Will be hard to measure, as we never took log data with the cooling upgrades... when the standard chargeair waterpump was present.
It was actually to test, if we can change in the ECUTEK... how fast the pump would be flowing under whcih...
I updated my post on the cooling, with an additional section: how our IAT (intake Air Temperatures) are cooled. Just for completion and because people liked my post (lol).
Just for information for the community:
The turbine is the HOT side of your turbo (the one where your exhaust gasses spin the turbine wheel)
The compressor is the COLD side of your turbo (the one where your intake air gets compressed, which afterwards is referred to as charge air)
So in a...
Let me know how well it works
if you notice on colder days when you have problems maintaining the engine temperature (read: temperatures too cold), that it helps to heat up the engine by blocking that passenger side radiator.
Thanks.
Last weekend, by removing the front bumper and all radiators, we figured everything out:
So I am going to list it up here, which may provide other people as well with useful information.
In our front bumper, we have '3 main hole section' when standing in front of the car.
Left...
As @PaulFRDE mentioned, IAT has nothing to do with blowing up your turbo.
I have never encounterd a blown up turbo on the track.
The route I would verify as well, is to see if the cooling of the turbo perhaps failed.
Maybe that problem is still present
The turbo is cooled via water and that...
Now what are perhaps interesting questions and answers for everybody:
can you use the EOS manifold with the stock oil filter without needing to remove the manifold during an oil change?
can you use the stock charge pipe, or do you require a larger diameter due to their larger throttle body
Or...
I guess you also tried to delete de app on the phone and re-install it?
This way, you need to pair it again and provide your 'pincode' (don't know if you changed, else its the default one)
Maybe a long shot, but don't know if you already tried that step as well :)
From my experience, I only have two issues with the ECUTEK dongle
1)
Sometimes, the app on the phone states... that it can't connect to the dongle.
This is quickly resolved by plugging out the ECUTEK dongle from the OBDII for 10 seconds, and plug it bakc in.
2)
Second (and more annoying), is...
Yes completely normal
Modern engines like the B58, during coldstart... the cooling circuit gets bypassed.
Only when the engine is warm, the full coolant kicks in.
Old engines don't have those 'smart heat management valves/system' in place.
Mostly to do with emissions (reason why the oil is...
Yes European models all have that.
I think it is even 'mandatory', as all other EU cars (not only BMW) have these suggestions in manual mode (auto or manual gearbox, does not matter).
We have those 'suggested gear' already since a long long time :)
(again, not talking about supra's, but cars...
Hope to see a few options available when not owning yet an engine cover
(so one way shipping with purchase of new engine cover)
Currently you can only select one-way, but without the option to state which engine cover you can buy brand-new (does not state for example from which brand the...
Welcome to the forum.
And yes you will even have more traction problems with a stage2 tune
As already a few members mentioned, the car produces a lot of torque in the low RPM band
Torque and the combination of not having a lo of weight pushing on those rear tires... wheelspin when you floor...
I had it before (having it as well again since this morning indeed).
This is because they have different versions of the dongle, not all can be updated everytime by the app (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt)
A manual upgrade should do the trick (worked for me last time)...
