Even tried contacting 'Toyota' via their contact form on the website... no response.
So in short:
We still have the 'blown engine' (we did not check yet what broke specifically... as the dossier is still open at Toyota)
We even have the 1st engine they send as replacement... which...
Running it as a daily with just catless downpipe and upgraded turbo (still have other EU restrictions and exhaust on).
No problem at all with sound.
I don't smell it, but the people behind me... apparently smell it when I go on throttle on higher rpm :)
Guess you nailed it :)
It all comes down to how you like the characteristics of handling.
And as each circuit/track is unique, the same setup is not working (or not be perfect) for all of them.
I mean... that is the entire reason why racecars are setup differently each track and based on...
Yes it does.
But tried it now two times in my garage (different timing after driving the car) and release button works fine till now when closing the door afterwards.
Could still be due to slamming the door itself. The trunk is not opening much out of its locking mechnism. So could be the...
Lately I been having the same problem as described here.
* Open the door
* Press the trunk release button
* Close the door
* Go to the trunk and its not fully open
Even pressing it twice does not always work.
But I never had the problem before... maybe I closed the door more gently the first...
The Super turbo exhaust has the same performance as their 'dual' muffler (according to HKS themselves)
But the HKS Super Turbo is much quiter (around the same as stock) and also has different exhaust tips

Just some more pictures of the recent event to kill the time.
On the road
Our dinner stop near a lake
And our private security hehe.
Police admiring the cars and they were so kind to stay till we all left after our dinner (around 11PM local time)
In the meantime...
Thanks.
Yes in real-life the Europeans are accepting the Supra and loving it. I can not count the amount of times people are looking at the car, taking pictures (even passengers hanging half out of their window during driving just to take a picture).
Every week, I still see people walking...
Been a while about updating this thread.
No news yet from Toyota on the engine and oil (so frustrating)
In the meantime, I have been on a 5-day roadtrip through a part of Europe: visiting Lamborghini.
Unfortunately we were no longer allowed to visit the factory itself due to covid19, but we...
100% correct on the BMW part.
The new GT-R will also not come to the EU market I guess (when they start developing)... unless when it is full electric :)
Tree-hugging EU :p
From the front
Supra wins it without a doubt.
But could be that the Z provides better cooling (looking at that grill)
From the side
Supra wins it, but both are close.
The ducktail spoiler did it for me. (sidenote: Don't see the Z getting any extra downforce on the rear)
Its just personal...
One thing I do would like in bimmercode (maybe it is in expert mode) , is the volume of the "warning sounds".
You can barely hear the 'rolls royce' parking sensor sounds when the volume of your audio is at around 30-40%.
I think what is already somewhere in expert mode... is to change the color...
You have to select as car "BMW Z4 G29".
Then you have the "mirrors" section where you can adjust the tilt percentage.
Yes I also hated the fact that by default... it tilts 100%
Used bimmercode yesterday to code the supra:
Deactivated the active sound noise
Set default driving startup mode to 'sport individual'
Mirror tilt to 30% (instead of the default 100%)
Activated the memory function of the start-/stop function
Put as ringtone the one present on the mobile phone...
