Used bimmercode yesterday to code the supra:
Deactivated the active sound noise
Set default driving startup mode to 'sport individual'
Mirror tilt to 30% (instead of the default 100%)
Activated the memory function of the start-/stop function
Put as ringtone the one present on the mobile phone...
Did not try without airconditioning. So we will have to wait one year to try (lol) :p
By then, we should have better cooling anyways
Windows down is not allowed on a racetrack.
Out of interest: how did you find to correlation? :)
Yes I do. And yes after around 3/4th of the session... the air conditioner can't keep up anymore and it gets warm in the car.
Sticking currently here to the 'gazoo racing 0W20 SN C5' oil:
Main reason: we are not sure yet what happened to the engine + 0.0 feedback from Toyota
99% of the time it...
:)
I am also not hitting limp mode on the normal roads when doing a pull. As you mentioned... it is less stressful for the engine and on the road... it has the time to cool down during pulls.
My mate (who drives the white supra on the pictures) has his Supra stage1 tuned till 480HP and was not...
No did not find yet what caused the limp mode.
Up untill now... the engine is still holding haha :D
Normally should not be the tune that caused it... as we are still conservative on boost/torque/... but who knows it is a combination of things.
Toyota Europe still did not provide feedback on...
Yeah it is my forth time in a row doing the event (twice with my R33 GT-R, twice with the Supra).
Pictures from other years
As you can see, international event. People from Great-Britain, France, Belgium, Netherlands,...
And yes that is indeed a Z4 parked next to mine :)
Came back home yesterday late night :)
Was a very fun weekend, driving around on the small roads in France.
Limp mode
Circuit driving... limp mode all after 7-10 minutes for the Supra.
Still running her in, so only gave it 40-50% throttle and only went to 4-5K RPM.
So we have some...
Got the car back since yesterday evening.
Tomorrow I will be driving with a bunch of supercars/sportcars through France and on Monday trackday.
As I have to break in the car, can't go full throttle.
Will go around 50% throttle position and till 4-5K RPM.
Will have my fun in the corners on...
They don't allow that due to warranty.
They will also only deliver it to a Toyota dealer and nowhere else (again... warranty).
This all is getting me stressed out. As most likely... it will break down somewhere somehow.
If all goes well, we can start this winter opening up the 'old engine' and...
Ass planned the engine arrived yesterday. But again... problems with the engine.
After removing the plastics;
there was oil leaking out
sand on the engine,
the intake and orher holes where not sealed ,
some dirt on the intake holes (who knows if some is inside)
But we have no...
Thanks for the feedback.
Which oil are you using in your supra currently and how many miles are on her?
This is the oil that Toyota is recommending for the supra by the way and which is we are using (interesting article found last week):
P.S.: Out of curiosity... do you have perhaps the oil...
We have taken logs when the engine was still in it. The engine itself was still fine on 5 cylinders.
We actually took the oil pressure from reading it out with the official toyota/bmw software (we got someone who works at toyota and who got training for the supra by toyota)
But you can indeed...
Thanks man :)
Yes a lot of plastic. The less weight... the better for the CO-reduction...
If all goes well, a new engine arrives tomorrow morning no later than 10AM.
Else it arrives on monday. LEt's hope this one does not get damaged.
Next week saturday... need to car for roadtrip and...
