  1. Officially ordered my A91 edition

Honestly, I probably would still pull the trigger on one now as opposed to waiting - the performance and suspension improvements are somewhat compelling, but the MY20 isn't slow or cumbersome by any stretch. What would actually make me go full rage will be if they massively improved the sound...
  2. Battery

Sad but true... they definitely don't know about proper shut down procedures since all of them I looked at (including mine) had the warning on.
  3. 2020 Supra Sales Ads and eBay Listings are up! / Crazy Mark Ups!!!

Uhh... Apparently the entire team are masochists... I'm always amazed at people/businesses selling things on the Internet under the belief that the person viewing their item is utterly incapable of cross shopping a different listing on the same site!
  4. New Toyota software updates for the 2020?

Uh yeah... ignoring the whole "Internet Petition" thing which is already pointless... look at the difference in purchasing power represented... even if every single MY20 owner in the US joined in: Let's be really, really generous and say that there will be another 3000 sold between now and the...
  5. Battery

I think it's ridiculous how many dealerships (at least until the last couple months) were sticking to $5K-10K markups due to the MKV's "halo car" status - then act like you bought a used Yaris when you need after-sale support of any kind. Definitely not "halo car" service that's for sure.
  6. Battery

Yeah.. we've got basically the same temperatures... actually mine are worse... we get more days per year under freezing than you and many more days over 100F than you (like 60 or more every year). So there's no way a battery they regularly put in cars going to Scandinavia and the Middle East as...
  7. Radio Volume Issue

Yep same here as well. Doesn't actually bother me as the high frequency distortion of satellite sources drives me insane so I can't even stand listening to spoken work on it for more than a minute or two - let alone music. But it did scare the hell out of me when I first tried out the...
  8. Officially ordered my A91 edition

Not a bad price, but also used... so then not a great price either. Listing says 3,272 miles... mine had 7. That's a lot of test drives if it's a new one. ;)
  9. Officially ordered my A91 edition

Thankfully. Of course, what Toyota thinks CF trim pieces cost is also of concern. Regardless it will be a sweet ride. Congrats!
  10. New Toyota software updates for the 2020?

To keep the flood of service calls to a minimum... just look at what introducing new options on a subsequent model year has stirred up... can you imagine the number of "emergency service calls" from people unsure if 100C oil temps meant their engine was about to blow up or not?
  11. Officially ordered my A91 edition

Don't ever buy a new house then... :banghead:
  12. Officially ordered my A91 edition

Well, in that case you just don't take delivery of it. Sure, they could take your $1K (or hold it until they sell the car) but that's a non-issue in comparison to overpaying by $15-20K. ;) It's unlikely really... a guaranteed sale for potentially less markup is something dealers love IME...
  13. New Toyota software updates for the 2020?

Updated sports displays shouldn't be iDrive dependent necessarily... but I imagine they will simply because Toyota isn't going to bother spending one second or one dollar on updating the 2020 in any way - no matter how happy it would make us. Just allowing a switch to have the diagnostic mode...
  14. Battery

That sounds more like it. I'll accept having to replace it in 3-4 years... the desert is hell on batteries after all. If it can't go ~36 months regardless of environmental conditions... then the wrong battery design was selected by the manufacturer and should be remedied by the same.
  15. Toyota GR Supra Races Into 2021 with More Power and First-Ever Four-Cylinder Turbo Model

Yep that was my take as well.. regardless of mode it was somewhat lifeless... until it hit the "magic spot" - then tons of power (somewhat unexpectedly IMO). Drive mode would change where the magic spot was located... but it still was more like a switch and less like a smooth analog control...
  16. Battery

What!?! There is no way that can be right. If that's the case then I'll have to replace mine every 3 months... well maybe 3.5. And people in the Middle East would be replacing theirs every other week in the summer. That battery should have been replaced under warranty anyway... at the...
  17. Battery

Yep, same with mine... I drove a few long runs with it on and then took it to the dealership for clearing (re-registering it basically). I'd already been told that with some on their lot it took more than 8hrs for the charge computer to signal the OK and let it be registered... mine took barely...
  18. New Toyota software updates for the 2020?

Which unfortunately, is likely to result in settlements around the same $125.00 I got when the "accelerator recalls" debacle tanked the value of my IS350... despite not being directly affected by the problem. I guess if you took that $125 to a tuner along with a case of beer... you'd get closer...
  19. Toyota GR Supra Races Into 2021 with More Power and First-Ever Four-Cylinder Turbo Model

Now that is worth trading up for... too bad the price is likely to be "like with the GT4" as well. :( I hope for their sake they can keep it under the price of a Cayman GTS 4.0... because that is ticking all the boxes IMO.
  20. Toyota GR Supra Races Into 2021 with More Power and First-Ever Four-Cylinder Turbo Model

I apologize for the confusion, I misspoke (though I've clarified in other posts): Toyota, in the 21st Century, is about cars with "absolute shit performance" but strong reliability - although my last few are calling in to question the second part as well since they've had many problems from the...
