One of the aspects I prefer with SAO/ALO/GGO is the general lack of repetition. Likely due to coming from lite novel as opposed to serialized manga. I can definitely go for some shonen manga/anime... but (mostly due to my age, of course) I'm much more enthusiastic about seinen titles...

Both are fantastic, I loved SAO... be sure to do Gun Gale and Alfheim as well, afterward. Shino is almost as endearing a character as Asuna... almost. ;) Attack on Titan is another one that I preferred the Manga to the Anime... but both are good. Definitely not as lighthearted as SAO universe...
