Agreed. Nissan's already making excuses how they didn't build it for performance figures, couple that with them not revealing times or weights, and we already know how it's going to go.
I love that video. Haven't seen it in forever. I drive semi's myself and it always cracks me up how little boys boast about their "mansmission" 5 or 6 speed
Big whoop bro, try hauling 130,000 lbs up a mountain floating 18 gears.
I could even see the new BRZ/GR86 taking away 2.0 sales too. But let's face it, the 2.0 only made sense in countries where you get taxed on engine size.
I'm sure it will be more popular because it has a more attractive price point. But you get what you pay for. You pay less, because you get less. The base 3.0 Supra is what? $53k? The Performance Z won't be that far below it fully optioned. The Nismo could even be more.
Let's look at the other...
I disagree. The 40k Z will have all the flaws I mentioned before. The manual, the open diff, the smaller brakes, and it's still heavier. And has less torque, and less horsepower as we know the 2021 Supra makes well beyond 400 crank.
The performance model might be closer, but that won't be 40k...
My type? Now I'm sorry I edited my post lol.
Quoting Pantera? Damn, if you weren't such a loser, we'd get along.
Anyway, like I said, just wait. That 13 year old plastic shitbox will have "performance" figures soon enough.
It was never going to be. It's literally inferior in every department. Less horsepower, less torque, slower transmission, smaller brakes, open diff, worse suspension, worse tires. Never gonna happen.
To be fair, the Supra concept would've cost NSX money if they released it like that, with hydraulic wing etc. Maybe that was the idea, but poor NSX sales made them go "cheap". Who knows.
That is literally the worst part about Subaru. Makes awesome concepts, the Viziv WRX/STI looked fantastic, and we're getting another boring AWD Corolla lookalike.
It depends what environment you use the STI in. In the snow, with a set of Blizzaks, the STI is unbeatable. It's unbelievably good. On dry pavement it's somewhat boring, but that's where the Supra shines.
I loved my mk7 GTI, as far as usable space goes, because the hatch comes straight down, it can't be beat. I'm eagerly awaiting the next STI unveil for a replacement of my winter car. I fear it will be another boring looking car though, judging by the WRX teasers. In which case I might bite the...
