I completely agree. Personally, I think Russell should already be in that seat.
They never minded keeping Bottas because he was fast enough in the superior Mercedes to score more than enough points to win the constructors title, and not quite fast enough to pressure Lewis, so it kept the peace...
Lewis extends his contract for 2 years... looks like Bottas' seat is safe
Be nice for Lewis. He can watch Max win his first 3 titles first hand.
Yeah us "stans" are weird, because we like a racecar driver, and not a crying, whining, kneeling turd that can only win in a car a second faster than the rest  and if he doesn't, starts making up ghost stories about improved engines.
Thanks for proving my earlier point...
What I'm saying is, if the cars are closely matched, like this season, for the first time in 8 years, the driver makes the difference. If Lewis wins, and conditions are the same as last race, then Lewis did a better job. The Mercedes might be better on...
Lol you guys should stop drinking the Wolff kool-aid and apply some logic.
When Mercedes wins 95% of the races, it's the car.
When in 8 years, Mercedes NEVER lose 4 races in a row, it's the car.
When in equal cars, the Mercedes gets beaten, it's the driver.
When a different car has both...
Go watch France again. The Mercedes was the faster car. At one point during the race Max had BOTH Mercedes cars within 1.5 seconds behind him. If the RBR was faster, he'd have just cruised away like Hamilton's been doing for 7 years.
In Austria, yes. It's faster. But definitely not everywhere...
Bottas v Perez will be interesting. Both have a point to prove. Bottas qualified ahead of Lewis last race, so he'll want to do that again, and Perez obviously wants a podium.
Ric is just in a downward spiral. While Max was young and impetuous and impatient he could narrowly stay ahead in...
Lewis will not beat Max. In equal cars Max is faster. If the last 8 years have proven anything, Lewis needs a car faster than his competitors and a doormat teammate. Russell proved in Bahrain last year how easy it is to win in that car (until they conveniently mounted the wrong tires and screwed...
Teams with 0 or even points go on highest finishing position during the season. If Williams best position was 12th and HAAS 13th, Williams will be ranked 9th, and HAAS 10th. Now if HAAS finishes a car 11th, they'll be 9th in the constructors standings.
Very true! At the same time, RBR botched Perez's first pit stop which would've gotten him a podium too. Those 2 seconds wasted were huge.
Can't wait for Sunday.
It happened on the straight after the turn. He just drove his wing into Gasly's tire. He had plenty room on his left too. Was completely unnecessary. Honestly he's lucky he didn't get a penalty.
He's a rookie, doing rookie things. He'll be alright. Apparently he got a good thrashing from Helmut Marko so he'll be more careful. I say he'll finish qualy in Q2.
