Yeah... The numbers they come up with make absolutely no sense. The CF center console piece only costs $470 (MSRP). Yet they want $11,000 for... mirror caps and a splitter..? Like, am I missing something, did Mr.Toyota himself make the parts?
Should be all plug n play - swapping the electronics from wheel #1 to wheel #2 is going to be a bit of a hassle, make sure you've got trim removal tools and various bits and screw drivers to help get the job done. Go slow, take your time, be sure you've got all the screws necessary out.
Airbag...
Two days posting in a row? This must be bad luck...
Car went into limp mode last night w/ 120308 / 120408 when I hit redline in 4th - logs showed it missing boost target by a substantial margin. Thought it might be someplace on the intake system, so spent the morning tearing it apart. Found two...
removed the AeroBon spoiler after a year or so of good use. Finish ended up failing pretty good on this one in a couple of different spots. For the price, can't complain. It did its job and it was cheap, so that always softens the blow! Car is getting detailed on Tuesday, so I figured I should...
You poor thing, lol. It's best to just read the forum and get used to all it's quirks before you make another thread. This isn't anything on you - it's just the response you'll get here. We want you to do research and be able to form a competent opinion on your own first so you can engage in...
Is the car throwing any codes? See if you can get a log of the car misbehaving and that'll hopefully shed some light on things.
I'd suspect the JB4 first since that's got ins on a lot of the sensors and can easily mess with things.
Should only be an issue if they try to perform an istep update, or any sort of recall update (like the 3g tower shutdown). As long as you make it crystal clear that the car can't be updated, you should be fine.
Performing an istep update is a big deal (see the thread on it) and isn't something...
Finally ordered the trim piece that has the button to toggle heated steering. Hands are no longer toasty after a long 8 or so months!
It's been a long couple months of traveling for work, and I think I've got a couple month break.
Side note for anyone trying to replace this trim piece:
-...
this is the way for anyone who hasn't purchased an adapter yet. MHD is $80-100 and can be used for (just about) anything.
Alternative - ODB <-> eNet and USB C or Lightning to Ethernet.
For anyone interested, glitching is super cool. risky, but super cool. Here's a video from a defcon talk last year on how someone managed to use it to dump firmware on one of Apple/Texas Instruments new USB-c controller:
Like 99% of it went over my head, but for any nerds around, it's still cool.
Not my work, no. I'll re-flash an OTS map, not in a good spot to have it retuned by someone else at the moment, and it's definitely not going back to that shop. But yeah - you're spot on. They were rushing to get me out, did it remote by ??, on the street over dyno, etc.
The two week wait is over!!!
++ not having to send your DME across the world is always worth the price. Can insure the package too! Less risky. I wonder if you lived close by and called if they could squeeze in a same day unlock...
I'm sure they'll be swamped. Just in time for black friday...
There's not really any good upgrade options out at the moment aside from the ones you mentioned already.
There's a few MMI units that run Linux and Android, which you can install apps on, which may offer more flexibility. If you search for "Android NBT Evo" you'll find a few companies like...
