Yeah, there was an obvious red flag based on his length of time as a member and the too-good-to-be-true pricing.
I think the forum could do more to bar anyone who has been a member for less than say, 30 days, from being able to post to the classifieds section. Don't other forums do that?
FWIW, I think that makes a lot of sense. For the person that has a downpipe and maybe not much else, I am not sure what the tune is going to do over and above the JB4. To access performance beyond 450-500 whp, I think you have to look at a turbo upgrade. I don't think the tune, by itself, is...
Well, great news IF it's true. I guess that's the beauty of competition: with Nissan coming out with the new Z with 400 HP and a manual for ~$40K, Toyota had to react I suppose. I don't think the manual, standing alone, would cause me to trade, but if there were more performance-related...
If you're worried about wait times: you're also going to be waiting several months for the Voltex wing unless you go the Aliexpress route. I don't know of any vendor that actually carries the Voltex wing in stock.
I have H&R. I think it ended up being over an inch... that said, the shipping blocks were still installed, so there's that. I have a lip as well and I do scrape from time to time if the driveway is steep and I don't approach at an angle, so I would second the suggestion of the Z4 Eibach...
Of course. Long-term, it's not ideal because the shock and spring should be a matched set for optimal performance. But for someone more casual like me that doesn't intend to break the bank, wants marginally better performance, and doesn't want a full-on track car, it's a serviceable solution...
I have not. This is still primarily a road car so I want to keep the ability to switch between normal and sport mode. It's rare to find any aftermarket system that does that.
I have a 2021 3.0 Premium. I've installed H&R lowering springs and Whiteline adjustable sway bars both front and rear.
I intentionally took some time to leave the car stock for a while to get a feel for its baseline characteristics. This may be the minority view, but I think the 2021 is a...
Im not sure I follow the reasoning here. If Mercedes brought Lewis in, RBR would’ve done the opposite and gained track position. Had Masi followed the rules, the race would’ve finished under a safety car and the move would’ve cost Lewis the championship, no?
Either way, the real issue is...
Same here. I lived pretty responsibly in my 20s instead of blowing all my money on a car I couldn’t really afford. If I had it over again, I would’ve plowed even more into retirement accounts and whatever real estate I couldve afforded back when I graduated undergrad.
Kind of like when Pirelli has to investigate why their own tires blew up during a race. That's how you end up with excuses like too much cloud cover and the car being painted the wrong color
So the FIA is launching a formal “probe” of the Abu Dhabi incident because it’s tarnishing F1’s image. It doesn’t look like it will change the outcome of the race but I assume they will come up with a new procedure if there is a safety car with less than 5 laps left.
I don’t see how Masi...
The 18s don’t look quite as big as I thought but man all I see is more unsprung weight.
And as much as I love racing, I wish the teams had a longer offseason. The first 2022 test is in what, March?
500-550 whp on pump gas for a Pure800 seems in the ballpark to me for a very conservative tune. It's consistent with what I've been told anyway.
I don't think I've personally seen a stock turbo get to 500-550 on pump gas. Not saying it's not possible--just that I haven't seen it.
Yea, the issue they are going to run into is that the rules always have a backdoor that gives the director/stewards discretion to do whatever they want. The rules are there to say what should happen and in fairness what usually does happen but not what must happen (as it pertains to what the...
Congrats to Max but wow Masi made a dog’s breakfast out of this. If FIA wanted a grandstand finish (which is the only way I can explain what was going on), they should’ve just immediately red-flagged the race like Nibble said. Doesn’t look like he followed the rules at all but I strongly doubt...
I am not sure what it is that they have actually done. The only video I have seen from them just showed the HP/lb.ft. gauges in an X5, I think, with higher maximum figures, well above the stock limits. And that was several months ago. That may be the extent of their accomplishment.
