Unless your car is already covered before a storm, it will be very difficult to cover once the wind picks up. Car covers become parachutes.
That said, given that you have a lot of time to prepare, I would place a nice thick layer of blanket, strap it to the car on the hood and trunk, then...
I went with Eventuri because they look pretty and my car is a garage queen. So I have their engine cover as well to match.
Honestly the stock intake is plenty good imho if you don't really care about the appearance of your engine bay.
I see.. my Supra is black too so I can understand. In my case since I'm still running stock exhaust, I suppose I can do the IND black tips.
Or just engine enamel it black. I did this on my Golf-R's Borla.
Tungsten1stSupra - I too am a big fan of waterless washes (LOL'ed @ "magic juice" but it truly is). Sure I still rinse the underside of my daily driver after the snow season using this special wand and hose water, but after that I only use waterless.
I would measure the piping and check general speed shops in your area that sell one similar in length. Cut the bent one off, screw on the new ones.. or have the shop weld it on.
At this point if I want to drive MT I'd take out one of my MT cars. Supra is fine with the AT (I am an MT guy saying this). For me that $10K would go towards a new car in the future.
My car does that on occasion. It might be something to do with the lighting and shadow/shade. I only drive my Supra early morning and it might be how the sun hits the garage door frame. If I back out super slow it does not seem to activate.
I don't drive the car often enough to trust my own...
I had 3D floor mats on another car.. tore a hole through them in about 1.5yrs on my MT car where my left heel lands. I'm sure they will last a while on an AT car, but they cover up the dead pedal. I have a decorative dead pedal so looking to probably replace mine with just a simple custom-cut...
Another reason why I only use QD to clean the car after a drive or use waterless wash if I drove through a puddle.
You can engine enamel spray (Dupli-color) the area the pads do not make contact.
I usually start discussion with a dealer who has the car I want via call or email to get a price down because it all comes down to price and availability for me.
I'm upfront with them that I am looking at a specific budget or incentive and unless I can get that, I would not be interested in...
I realized my plates were expiring next month so got new registration on order today. Next step is reinstating my insurance come April... then oil change. Already nearing a year ownership with my Supra. :)
Yeah, seeing all that work I'd just remove the bumper too. Also I would definitely NOT stick my head in the bumper/fender well with just a scissors jack.
Funny at the end of that video the guy mentions 'huh, still sucks?' after test.
Just to give someone a reference, I run 50% Pinnacle on one of my daily driver's front side window to match the rear factory dark-ish tint on my SUV. It's a fairly close match.
I usually run 35% all around on my hobby cars, but on my Supra, I do not run any aftermarket tint.
