I'm driving mine. Is BMW even certain that it is the starting sequence that is causing the failure, or just random failures on the pump or it's peripherals.. who knows. It's probably a bigger problem on certain pumps and they probably don't have a clue what is causing it.
While risking them breaking other non related things and leaving a mess of oil in your engine bay in addition to using the wrong oil, wrong amount, smudges in the interior, scratches and swirls and even possibly dings while parked?

Sounds like it was maybe defective from the factory. Good thing you did the work because chances are, dealer would just bandaid fix it without telling you and you drive off.. and when you most need the car to run, thing leaks.

You have both cars and can drive both at the same time? The only way the M240i would win would be if you drove that car and you could not drive the Supra because you were already driving your M240i.. I think that's how it works.
Did you cross thread the screw? Cause the thread should be loose if the head broke off due to over torque.
Usually the rule of thumb is not to over torque screws on CF parts.

I think it is painted. Are you trying to remove the dealer induced swirls in the silver/chrome looking finish? It won't come off on mine.
