No. My dealer, to their credit, did not try to press me too hard on the upsell. I was fine with the factory warranty given the low miles I put on the car and the prospect that I will likely mod mine. Just felt like wasted money—even more so than the typical extended warranty.

I briefly considered leasing but the terms I was offered by most dealers were atrocious. The residuals they were assuming struck me as way, way too low. Seemed clear they were steering people toward purchasing at that point in time.

This is my thinking. I think a new 2.0 is a little difficult to rationalize at that price point compared to the 3.0 (new or used) or the 86 because the 2.0 lacks so much of the go-fast bits found on the 3.0. I think the 2.0 is a very nice car--it's just tough to find the case for buying it...
