As an instructor and racer with NASA for going on 11 years, not sure why you're apologizing to me :D But you nailed it, every region is different and I'm very happy hear this - it sounds like you guys run a great thing up there and I've only been for nationals.
I'd argue it very differently as...
While a cost comparison is great, I really think the focus should be cost/seat time.
Not to bash NASA as I've raced with them for years, but they typically prioritize race groups and the session count for DE is smaller compared to other groups -- not to mention hard stop session time limits...
Thanks for this -- much better to establish the data rather than try to aggregate posts ;)
FWIW, I'm not sure I'd qualify as "excessive" but voted Yes since there has been some consumption.
Additional items FWIW..
Daily Driver: Yes
Time since oil change: 3000 miles (verified "max" at fill up...
The V6 is going to work hard depending on the final ratio and torque, but it can be done especially with something like a Trailex. I’ve been using the CT-7551 for a while, it’s like pulling nothing (weighs like 850 pounds).
Great advice in the thread already. If you're at all uncomfortable with turning it off, it's not time to turn it off. As others have stated, build up to that point in a controlled environment (track) to understand the limits of the car. When you reach a plateau where the assists are limiting...
Just as an additional reference, in 55-60 degree ambient I was starting at 30-32 cold and they did fine 20 minutes at a time, adjusting through the day like the others mentioned to hover around 36-38 hot.
You're going to cycle through the performance lifespan of this tire pretty quick. If your...
I think you're being a little paranoid as most of this is building out the data for opening the case. None of those would be grounds for warranty voids (but I would definitely omit racetracks :D ).
Just a point of data collection, I'd be curious to know what people's break-in procedures were for those burning oil out of spec? Not implying causation or that there's even a correlation, but it'd be interesting to look at that with respect to the consumption rate.
Invest in a pyrometer (needle, not IR) if you don't already own one. Your outer / middle / inner temps will tell you where your camber needs to be (also track dependent but still great for targeting). Definitely zero out the front toe, rear is going to be what you're comfortable with and what...
