I took my Supra out for the final drive of the season today. Added Stabil360 and placed her on Flatstoppers, did a full detail, suspended her insurance. She's hooked up to a battery tender from the front, but will route a new wire from behind to the engine bay in the coming weeks.
I should...
genoxy - You can probably make that wrinkled side work. I install vinyl/clearbra as a hobby all the time on my cars. Those wrinkles can happen when unrolled and it only takes a little bit of heat (heat gun) to get them back into shape.
Is that supposed to be for wet or dry install? I'd...
With the colder temps my cargo cover started to rattle over rougher roads. It was a tinny metal sound so guessed it was something hitting the aluminum bar. I could reproduce the sound just by gently tapping at the center of the cargo cover.
Used some hard felt to make a gasket. No more...
Good job of not getting into an accident.
In my experience horns usually don't work against stupid people as they hear the horn, but don't think twice it was intended for them.
Or it startles them so much that they over react.
I was expecting the 2.0L to do better than my 3.0L, but considering my 4 banger turbo's can only do about 29-31mpg this is expected.
The 3.0L is super efficient.
I did not know the 400Z had a price tag of $40K.
Considering the Q50RS is near $60K, I would assume the 400Z with comparable package to the base Supra will be about $50K. This is probably why Nissan did not release to the public the 'bad news' for folks on a budget.
Cable e-brake and MT is nice but they basically took a 370Z and put their Q50RS motor in it right... I think the body is too bland for 2021 and the facia looks pretty awful.
Huh, my Supra (USA) did not have that little TOYOTA emblem above the Supra.
I had to remove an emblem off my other car as a piece of it broke off in the harsh winter. There really was no quick/easy way to do it. Basically same as you, I just picked at the adhesive little by little and used...
I've owned over 35 new cars over the decades, honestly I can't remember them all.. but this is my first AT hobby car as well... besides a new 98 Prelude I had that was partly a daily driver with the 'new at the time' sequential shifting AT gearbox which turned out to be a bad choice after my...
angrytoddler, turbo- Thanks for the comments on the indoor cover.
I've been using an outdoor Carcover.com cover on my daily driver (2019 WRX Limited) since I've been working from home since March. The cover has worked real well through countless storms and bird crap. I had an issue with...
I did not really cross-shop a used GT-R for my Supra, but I looked at lightly used GT-R's at one point.
The biggest issue I had was these lightly used ones had history of work done at the dealership for warranty work according to CarFax. Sometimes I saw history of the car going in 2nd and 3rd...
WRX Limited is softer riding than a stock Golf-R. It runs Sachs dampers (fixed damping) which are quite good. It’s actually closer feel to my Golf-R than my STI. Golf-R’s are cool I like them especially because mine is MT and lightly modded. Excellent touring car on the weekends.
To me...
I own one of each as well. Both are my hobby cars, each fantastic in their own ways.
In the USA Golf-R's don't come with a sunroof which is a big plus for me not to have heavy glass and motor at the highest point of the car.
My daily driver is a current model WRX Limited. A lot more comfy...
