  1. Chief Engineer Says Supra's Blocked-Off Air Vents Can Be Made Functional / Functional vents possible?

Come on, it's not even possible. The door vents are part of exterior garnish on the door. To get to the brakes, you'd have to cut holes in the door jamb, which is structural. Of all the fake vents, these are the most fake, with the least possibility of being realistically used. It should be...
  2. Chief Engineer Says Supra's Blocked-Off Air Vents Can Be Made Functional / Functional vents possible?

It's been known for a while that none of them are really feasible except maybe for the ones near the headlights and front fascia, and even they have limits.. The ones on the hood are over the strut tower and of limited use. The ones on the doors have nowhere to go at all. It should be obvious...
  3. 2020 Supra and BMW M240i?

Just the size of the brakes alone drastically separates the M2 Comp and M240i -- M2 Comp has track brakes and the M240i does not. Other suspension bits and running gear are totally different as well, then go on the inside and you get true M seats. I own a BMW with the B58 and the M2 Comp with...
  4. Change in steering feel and feedback when running wider aftermarket wheels.

I think you have proved the answer to your own questions.
  5. Grease Drips from the Hood

One thing BMW does in manufacturing is to spray a waxy/greasy beige liquid into cracks and crevices in the body where water would otherwise accumulate and lead to corrosion. Very similar to the old-school "cosmoline" used by military and manufacturers of all types. On every new BMW I have...
  6. Is a manual transmission in the cards for the new Supra?

I have owned three BMWs with the ZF8 transmission including my current M40i. It's good -- the best automatic I know of -- but it's not even in the same league as a serious DCT from BMW or Porsche.
  7. Toyota wants to buy my car back....

I always wondered what kind of people fell for this.
  8. Is a manual transmission in the cards for the new Supra?

Early on, over 50% were manuals. Even all these years later it's still in the 40-50% range. Slightly different market than Supra (people have to be pretty determined to want an M2) but it gives an example of the take rate for a manual transmission in a serious sports car. I rarely hear anyone...
  9. Blackvue DR900s-2CH Install Questions

Who cares about your 50 years of experience? You obviously have no clue about this issue on modern BMWs. Nothing you have written here is even relevant to the system on these cars. A smart person like you should at least be able to do a google search and figure it out. Or just search this...
  10. Blackvue DR900s-2CH Install Questions

You would do well to listen to him. There are many threads across the internet documenting that it's a bad idea to install these cameras on BMWs without a battery pack. And there have been several threads on here too. It's pretty much guaranteed that you are going to run into problems. Not...
  11. What I paid for my 2020 Turbulence Grey

Don't go for deferred first payment offers if you can help it -- that is a trick they use to take more interest out of your pocket.
  12. Did anyone cross-shop the Supra against BMWs?

Ah yes, the clutch delay valve. I have hated CDVs on other sports cars but can't say I notice it too much on the M2C. Some people think it was changed between the OG M2 and M2C but I don't know if that's been proven for sure. I have found the upshift rev matching can get confused in stop and...
  13. Did anyone cross-shop the Supra against BMWs?

Did you ever try to disable the rev matching on upshifts? Most people don't know that the car rev matches upshifts (subtle) in addition to downshifts (obvious). That can affect the perceived shift smoothness if you are not hip to it. Like many other M cars, there is a big gap between 1-2...
  14. Did anyone cross-shop the Supra against BMWs?

I have a 2020 M2C with 6-spd manual and love it. I would be driving a Supra if it had a manual transmission, and that is a deal breaker for me. I have the B58/ZF8 in another BMW and it's quite good -- best automatic I've driven -- but it's absolutely not as good as a DCT and is not a...
  15. Driveway Clearance Issues: Anyone Use Curb Ramps?

Not cheap, but "bar grating" could be used to flatten the path across the swale a bit and it should't impede water flow. Or build something with lumber.
  16. 2021 Toyota Supra Review Videos

That dude sounds like a car salesman and has the corresponding mix of erroneous info and poor choice of words. Hard to believe Toyota picked him to give a first look at the car.
  17. Condensation in tail lights

If there is a hole, put GorTex vent material over it, not PPF. GoreTex will let vapor pass but not water. PPF will block everything which means vapor will be trapped in the light. Unless you have the ability to evacuate all moisture from the lights before sealing them, don't do it. As far as...
  18. Limited power but no warnings?

Jackie Ding experienced this I believe. There can be a range of reasons. I think that even things that affect tire pressure, TPMS, tire size, ABS sensor, etc can trigger various limp modes. Transmission or differential temperature may also be a trigger.
