An easier solution is to spray the brake disks with approx 5% solution of Bilt Hamber Atom-mac. I use this when washing the car and have no surface rust form during washing.
Dropped my car off last week for a parking sensor to be replaced, the dealer mentioned that they can't place factory-backed orders for Supras anymore - it's a case of 'if we can fulfil it we will, but don't count on it'.
Thread resurrection, but thanks for letting us know the fix.
Mine's started with the same issue... the car hasn't been getting used much so I've got it on a trickle charge at the moment incase that resolves it, but if it doesn't I'll have Toyota give the sensors a look.
Any update like this will re-lock an unlocked ECU that previously needed a bench unlock.
Itāll be bench-unlockable again though.
If youāre mapped, it could make the update a nightmare, so youād be best restoring to stock before the update, then bench unlocking and remapping afterwards.
Got to agree with @Supra_UK_ itās a considerably rarer car in the UK - let alone the rest of Europe - so there arenāt many of us active on here.
I also think thereās a bit of a cultural difference between the US and UK in terms of what each country likes to do with their cars. To me it seems...
Coming to the Supra from a Cayman myself (718, 2.0) a few things that'll help you.
- Eibach Pro spring kit, it's a small drop in ride height, but the change in body control is sublime.
- A proper, and I mean truly proper alignment from a specialist. Failing that get in touch with Manthey...
Did have it, with ALA. It's good to have should the worst happen to the car and the value tank at the same time.
Now I have an agreed value policy on the car until 2026 with the same insurer, Ā£300 for a valuation of Ā£42,740.
I haven't needed to top mine up in 3 years/15k miles. But do have a 1 litre bottle - supplied by my dealer - of the Gazoo Racing oil for if it needs it.
Before the friends from across the pond jump in: a little oil consumption is normal.
Yup, used it a few times as a nice top-up to the protection I've put on both cars - one's ceramic coated, the Supra isn't.
It's good and works well, but I didn't buy another bottle after finishing the first as I preferred the results from Tac ShineeWax, and Gyeon Q2 Wax.
Servicing is condition based, determined by the car's electronics, and you can check this in the infotainment system - it'll show time and mileage until the next inspection, oil change, and brake fluid change.
There's a separate service booklet which has UK servicing intervals in it, I don't...
Labas!
I knew I recognised the streets in your photos from Vilnius. My wife's Lithuanian, we're over a few times a year - Supras are rare here in the UK, but I guess even moreso in Lithuania, though we did see a red one in the summer near Gediminas sq.
