Lexus could use a SLK & Z3/4 fighter, as well as a Mercedes SL / AMG GT competitor for both Lexus and BMW.

If I had to guess I would say Frankfurt this Fall or even Detroit in January 2016. They're going to be showing an M2 concept soon so they may not want the two concepts at the same show.

I almost forgot about the new M2. than there is the new 7 series as well. last but not least the new Z concept. I think it makes sense with Geneva, Frankfurt, & Detroit.

Looking forward to seeing the M2. Would love to see a more sporting Z.

It was reported that BMW had just moved onto the concept stage on 11/14. It took Toyota about 6 months to build their concept car. So maybe Geneva is a little to early. I think Frankfurt or Detroit seems more likely.

Agreed and I think the buzz on the BMW forums is that the M2 concept will be at Geneva so no way they steal that thing's thunder with a Z3/Z5 concept.

What exactly will the BMW concept tell us more about the Supra though, if anything?

I'm hoping the BMW concept will be closer to the size of the production car.

Yea hopefully we'll be able to tell scale and size from the concept, but i'm hoping for even more details like a discussion of the platform's construction and how good it may be.

I wouldn't mind if the "Z5" looked like this!

New BMW M GT Design Concept: Thoughts?

Does BMW need another sports coupe in its range?

That's probably too general of a question to answer with a simple yes or a no, as it doesn’t specify the size of the car, pricing and where exactly would the engine be mounted.

That brings us to the BMW M GT design study made by Idries Noah. The South African automotive designer sent us this rendering with the note "thought you guys might find this interesting…", which we certainly do, but he didn't give us any other intel on the car and what was the idea behind its creation.

Obviously, the engine is mounted up front, so depending on how big it is, it could be a draft for a 6-Series replacement or perhaps something more upscale, like a Mercedes-AMG GT competitor.

Take a look at it and give us your two cents.
