Let's decode this VIN!

WZ1DB4C5XKW000003

W= Country of Origin = Made in Germany (Production car will be made in Austria though, so perhaps this will change)
Z= Make of Car = Z hasn't been used I don't believe, so Z must = Toyota
1= Manuf. Origin = I believe this means Munich?
DB4C= Car's Model Code
5= Safety Restraint Type = 4 means Seat Belts + Dual Stage Airbags, so maybe 5 means it also has Pre-Collision stuff.
X= Check Digit
K= Model Year = 2020
W= Plant Code = Graz, Austria (This is correct)
000003= Seqeuntial Production # = This is the 3rd Prototype VIN I guess.

Hello everyone. My English is not the best, but I do not want to deprive you of this information. After seeing the VIN, I entered it on a few BMW VIN Decoder websites, hoping to find something there. One of these websites has actually shown a result. There the vehicle information, options and standard equipment are shown. I hope the information on this website is correct.

Great work! And detailed specs! If accurate, we have a definite power figure, 250kW/340HP give or take. Assuming, since it is in Europe, that is the restricted European output with the particulate filter. Still hoping for 280kW/380HP for the AU/USA versions.

Thats interesting that they have the vins available for outside apis to decode.

Some more info:

WZ1 is new to the BMW naming conventions
DB4C doesnt line up with RealOEM's 40i codes (DB41, DB42, DB43)
5 is some sort of new safety features, is the same as the new 5 series but I dont know enough so someone feel free to chime in.
4 is check code.
K is 2019 MY (they skip I for whatever reason)
W is Graz Austria (not shown)
000014 is serial number

Because this car shows as a 2019 car with a model code that isn't shown on RealOEM, i believe this is an older car (not to mention it is clearly modded lol) but cool to digest this info. What I do know is that this car did not have the US 40i type code (DB43) upon production

Do not complain for the European version I fear the worst :nono:
Someone to find the VIN of a European car?
I'm gonna be an optimist and say that even though the VIN shows "US" I would say these are the euro spec cars because we know for a fact that the event in Spain had the euro spec version and it's a good bet that the 3-4 we saw there are part of the 47 cars in that website.

Worst case (and most likely) they will all be 340hp regardless of region. I doubt they would choose the lower output model to be the racing version...

Im going to trust the VIN and assume 340 HP. It isnt the first time we have heard that number either

Is the US A90 only rated at 340HP? That’s wild.
DB4C isn't a model we have seen in the leaked BMW docs or on RealOem so this car is not a production model.

US Spec 40i is DB43

Yes really strange
Maybe it's a combination of DB43 and B58B30C -> DB4C :dunno:
Or a race car identification number at 340Hp :rofl:
