Base model now comes with RWD and a detuned version of the 5.0L supercharged V-8 previously only used in the top of the line F-Type R. It produces 444 HP in this trim.

The 2021 V-6 started at $80k+ and only came in AWD.

I was never interested in these before but all of a sudden I'm intrigued. $70k for a great looking, incredible sounding, 450 HP RWD sports car is not a bad deal at all.

But it's still a Jaaaaaaag. British made cars are typically not great, and the Jaaaaaag has a stigma to it of being an old fart car. The British Corvette so to speak.

If you're looking for a new 2 seat GT sports car with a V8 for 80k then it's decent. The engine is just detuned so with a pulley and a tune you're at like 550whp or more.

With how much the price of these tanked in the 2nd hand market (36k for a low mileage R on carmax.) I'd be hardpressed to buy one. I just fear they will still be an unreliable car when it come down to parts and maintence.

For $70K why not jump on the C8 bandwagon.

I like the looks of the Jag but resale value is bad. ↘
