2022 SUPRA REPLACEMENT KEY

Has anyone had to recently purchase a replacement key/keyfob for their 22 or 23 supra? If so what was the turn-around time it took to arrive?

The dealership is replacing mine on their dime, but its now been almost 8 weeks and has not shown up yet..being told it comes from Germany thus the delay.

Can anyone confirm whether they had the same experience and length of delay?

With experience working for a dealer, replacement keys are taking longer than usual. Reason being there is a specific chip on backorder needed for the keys.

Thanks for your reply, So going on 8 weeks now, any idea what the norm is now a days from your experience with supra key replacements? 6 months...3 months?

For us here, there was no ETA. i would guess no more than 3 months

Most likely coming from Austria not Germany, that's where the Supra factory is.

alright, sounds like maybe I need to give it more time. Sure would suck if something happened to the only key i have left at the moment.

wow that is crazy...but i guess i feel some what better. Thought they were yanking my chain, they could not even produce tracking or anything indicating that there was an order in place for this.

They were on a no ETA backorder back in Nov 2021 when I picked up my used 2020 with no second key. Sad to hear it hasn’t improved.

Can anyone confirm if we can just get a used one reprogrammed?

Also, silly question maybe, but does programming require wiping an ECU? Don’t want to lose my unlock/tune.

Just received an update about mine this past friday....was told there were over 200 on back order, and also that a shipment of 87 were currently on the way to the US, and it would be a couple of weeks before my dealership would know if my key was in that batch. - keep you all posted.

Won't work, the key fobs are hard coded to your BDC from the factory. There's no way around it besides ordering a replacement set through the dealer.

Nope, have been trying to get someone over there to look and tell me if mine is in...but its like pulling teeth trying to get them to do anything post the sale of the car.
