August 12, 2021 — MONTEREY, Calif.

Acura today announced the return of the Integra during its annual appearance at Monterey Car Week. The legendary nameplate, one of two models in the original product lineup when Acura launched on March 27, 1986, will rejoin the performance brand’s product portfolio as a new compact premium entrant next year.

“The Integra is back,” said Jon Ikeda Vice President and Acura Brand Officer. “I’m thrilled to say Integra is returning to the Acura lineup with the same fun-to-drive spirit and DNA of the original, fulfilling our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in every way – design, performance and the overall driving experience.”

More details about the new Acura Integra will be available closer to its 2022 introduction.

I’m genuinely excited for this, but if this will be anything like the Civic Type R, this will be marked up through the roof, especially with the current state of the car market.

Here in California we are seeing 10k market on a CTR, quite disgusting lol.

Can't wait. If they do a Type R/S with the CTR engine, I'd seriously consider it.

Kudos to Acura for bringing it back! Especially in today's SUV-flooded market.

This will finally be the return of a sporty coupe from Honda/Acura (not including the NSX) since the Prelude, Accord Coupe, RSX and S2000 were killed off.

Oops. I did forget to mention the CL Type-S and the Legend Coupe.

This is exciting I was telling my friends that I feel like it's going to be a 2 door CTR, which isn't a bad thing. I'm excited for it.

Taillights need a little work but other than that, not bad.

If it had:
- Civic Type R engine (306 hp)
- Weighed: 2800 lbs.
- Manual transmission
- Championship White Color

That'd make me seriously think about trading up.

All that, plus RWD. I had a Championship White Honda Integra Type R, with the proper red Recaro interior, and it was fantastic, but after owning RWD cars like the Supra, RWD is just better.

I've had a mid-power FWD car before, never again. Anything over ~250 hp needs to be either RWD or AWD.
