My apologies if this is clearly articulated here, but over the almost 50 pages of posts, Iā€™m not quite sure. What is the cutoff date for the ECU (not build date of the car) for tunable or not? I have a July build and a 6-27-2020 ECU.

~ Yours is locked. The ecu would need to be stamped 5/20 or earlier.

You missed the cutoff by 27 days. The second option you have is a JB4 piggy back system.

Might be a glimmer of light for A91 & Recent 2021 Supra owners.

About 6:35 into the video - seems like it could be tuned.

ECU build date cutoff still applies 05/31/2020. The DME unlock is required first for a certain range of tunable cars. The first 2020 Supras came with DME unlocked from the factory.

Im currently running an JB4 but having some slight issues here and there.

Its a good alternative as of now.
Yes bump, can you expand? How is power delivery? Is it smooth? Choppy? Waste of time while waiting for tunability or totally worth it?

I have a locked 2021 and I am planning on doing a JB+ (not JB4) on my car and keeping it stock until the warranty is almost over...hopefully by then the ECU will be crackable and any issues with the engine will have been identified and be able to be fixed via warranty/recall/TSB.
I have a 2021 and just did the JB+ and while its obviously not going to be anywhere near as good as a real tune or even JB4, I can tell you 100% for $200 it is a tremendous value. Definitely wakes up the car.

200 bucks for a JB4?

Also do you know how much power the unit added?

That's really all I'm looking for until a true ECU Tune - I would do an ECU Tune along with downpipe, etc.

Many folks are used to the car already from driving it, but the car is very fast out of the box.

I don't drive my car that much, but I want to data log before I put on the JB+ and then datalog after and see if I see any knock or issues.

I am located in the Chicagoland area, so temps are still in the 50-60s, im curious to see what happens in the heat with the JB+. I'm assuming the ECU will just pull timing.

@redspencer How is your JB+ holding up? Any issues?
