just a thought... is it possible to slap in older 2021 or 2020 ECU to newer 2021 (7/20 and later) to make it work? i'm sure there are some challenging issues with that as well but if those are minor, it might be a good interim solution..

With enough demand the aftermarket will always find a way... ..eventually. It took HP Tuners about a year to crack the E99 pcm in the C7 ZR1. C8 is still a WIP.
^^^^^ I’ve spoken to multiple tuners that are already starting to see 2021’s and even A91s. They have all re-assured me they’ll be able to be tuned with time. Just as User AHP said, it takes some time for any new platform to be “cracked/unlocked”; but it’ll happen just fine.

This doesn't affect me but curious to know if this restriction applies to piggybacks such as JB4 as well.

wonder if they are referring to pre 7/20 build ECU's...but if not...that's great news! it was only doom and gloom for a few days.

If new security protocols were broken that fast, they weren’t very secure.

Good news for the 2021 owners!

That's going to be an awkward phone call for the ones that quickly cancelled their 2021 order :p

Do we know whether or not this issue is select to A91’s or is this effecting Premiums and bass models too and the only dependent factor is the build date of post-June 25th, 2020?

Contact your tuner or vendors who also tune on here, they know more than us.

I have talked to a couple. Both said they have seen the ecu issue with only A91’s. I’m wondering if any new 2021 Premium or Base owners have attempted to tune theirs yet and run into a locked ecu...?

I’m looking at switching to a Premium that was built earlier in the year at the advice of the tuners.
