Has anyone put on air intake or a K&N air filter? I put on the HKS air filter on today. I don’t know is it’s placebo but I swear you can hear the turbo much better. I also took out the charcoal filter that goes under the air filter, which I remember made a difference in the F80 M3.

What charcoal filter?

On the M3/4 there was a gray “charcoal” filter on top of the drop in filters. I suspected the Supra also had it, and indeed it did. It’s a small gray filter in the bottom. I took them out in both an M3 and M4. It’s for emissions or something idk lol ‍ Anyway the turbo noise is more pronounced.

Interesting, I will have to look on my car this evening and see if it's there.

Just ordered an EFI dry filter. As soon as it comes in I will be removing the charcoal filter.

Is this foam the “charcoal filter” you were referring to?

Did you have to rip it to get it out or does it just slide up those posts?

FWIW, I saw someone do a dyno run in this car without any air filter in at all, and it didn't make any more power than the previous run with the stock air filter in

I had to twist the nut to unscrew it and get it up high enough to pull the nut out. Then the foam will come out.

I bent the fins up on the retaining washers and they came right off... pretty quick!
