I'm wanting to go catless on my supra here soon as a cheap way to fix the lack of cracks on the 21, but performance is a great upside aswell.

Titan claims 40 hp without a tune / 100 with tune. Can anyone confirm this?

I ask because other great vendors will show a lot less as far as hp gains go for installing their down pipes.

Dyno numbers of a 2021 with the titan catless would be amazing.

Wouldn't that throw a CEL and limit power?

I contacted Titan the other day to ask about that defouler and they told me "don't even bother with it because it doesn't work and will still end up throwing a CEL". Just an FYI, to save you some cash. ?

Yeah the price they put on a 5$ defouler is absurd.. makes me wonder if I can trust their un shown dyno readings..

I contacted Titan.. not good

I requested dyno charts that show the 40/100 whp gain (as claimed on their website) and the response I got back was:

« You need a tune to get any gain from the downpipe,
It all depends on temputure, elevation, tuner, fueling, etc »

..so they lied.
They claim 40 whp on a stock Supra without a tune. I’m sure there is some sort of gain even without a tune but I won’t buy from a company that would lie about hp figured without any sort of proof to provide buyers.

So next idea; Who has some good catless down pipe recommendations?

I had a base line dyno done at Titan, at about 400hp and 385tq. I also did base line quarter mile runs at 12.105 at 117.

Installed their dp, ecutek with an OTS tune, and e30. Dropped down to an 11.78 at 119.

Waiting on my Pure turbo to show up, and I'll probably get a quick dyno while I go pick it up and see what I dyno at now.
Dunno if it's a full 100hp, but it's definitely noticeable, there's still plenty left on the table with only an OTS tune at that. I just didn't feel like paying for a custom tune when I know I'm going to need to retune as soon as I get the turbo/PI/flex installed.

Also, the pops and bangs are plenty loud at this point.

What was the hp gain after dp and tune?

Not a titan downpipe, but im pretty sure it would yield similar numbers. Dynos may vary. But take it for what it is. Personally I'd have no problem buying any parts from Titan Motorsports. They are one of the most well respected shops in the Supra community.

Titan Motorsports Catless with an MHD ots 91 tune. Ran it without the tune for a few days while waiting for the flash adapter, the car felt torquey as soon as boost creeped in but still wasn't enough for me to say it was a dramatic change. So after that, got the MHD and holy fuck, just an OTS tune impressed me, i can't wait for the day i schedule my custom tune.

What’s is a « MHD OTS » ?
Is that a real tune or a piggy back?

when I go catless, I do plan to get the jb4 if we aren’t cracked by then, if that changes things..

Great question.

MHD is a flash-based tuning platform/company. OTS is an initialism for off-the-shelf. It's not a custom tune made for your car, but one that pretty much is ok on everyone's car given a set of base mods. These required mods (usually referred to as stages, because video games) differ from tuning company to tuning company and map to map. For example, a "Stage 1 Tune" (again, because video games - there's a Donut Media video on this) might require a downpipe, where "Stage 2" might require modifications to the fueling system.

ah gotcha. Thanks for explaining that.

so you still do have a real tune, as in you have a tunable car. I don’t have that so jb4 is the best I can do as of now

True, MHD does require a bench unlock for the DME, luckily i'm a MY20. But the best part about MHD is the ability to tune on the fly and flash maps within a matter of 5-7 seconds. For OTS they have Stage 0 (stock power) for reflashing back to stock purposes. Stage 1 for just a base tune, no modifications needed. Then last is Stage 2 for aftermarket downpipe'd vehicles. Stage 1 & 2 both incorporate 91 oct., 93 oct., 95 oct., and E30 OTS maps. The OTS E30 for my car makes 475hp according to the sport display. I don't know how accurate the Sport Display is, but as far as i know, the youtuber Thic Whips dyno'd the car on a Stage 2 E30 OTS map at CES motorsports, the car dyno'd at 477hp so i'm guessing either MHD modified the Sport Displays to register accurate or close to accurate values... ??‍♂

Stage 2 E30 OTS (registered in my car)

now i'm not saying my car is exactly modified like Thic Whips in terms of power/ induction related parts, but i feel as if the MHD is just ballpark tuning for the majority of cars to work, not just a few, cause then it wouldn't be an OTS tune, it would have to be specific per vehicle. OH and the second best feature for MHD, the ability to upload custom tunes from either your tuner of choice or yourself if you're into that. ??‍♂
