Anybody else notice that the surface that the rubber seal sits against is machined too deep? i mounted the sensor on the armaspeed intake tube and could tell the rubber seal wasnt making contact and sealing so i shined a flashlight on the outside and could see light around the edges looking at it from the inside. i fitted the seal on the stock airbox and you can see that it is shallower and will compress to make a good seal.

Update:

Tonight i remounted the intake temp sensor on the Armaspeed intake tube and turned out the lights while shining a flashlight at the side of the sensor. in the picture you can see the light shinning in the inside of the tube, if light makes it in the tube so will dirt. i then placed latex gloves over each end of the intake tube and used suction on the pcv nipple and air is felt and can be heard rushing in around the temperature sensor. this is either a one off issue thats out of tolorance or an improper design.

I would urge anybody with this intake to check their temperature sensor to make sure it is sealed.

Mine is the same way. I will be heading to Lowes and looking for some material to make a gasket out of.

Ok, I used my digital Mitutoyo verniers and took some measurements of the recessed rectangle where the IAT sensor seats on the intake tube. Here are the results.

Stock IAT seal width: .095”
Stock recess depth: .055”
= .040” seal compression

Stock IAT seal width: .095”
Armaspeed recess depth: .106”
= No damn seal

Lowes didn’t have anything so I went to my toolbox and found some reinforced flat rubber backing that was .055” thick. I made an extra gasket that seals perfect now.

Good work! i had similar measurements

.10" and .090"

I hope everybody with this intake is paying attention otherwise your sucking in unfiltered air at the sensor.

I really like how Armaspeed will resond to a positive post reguarding their intake that was 1 post below this at one time but they are silent when it comes to this. for 750 bucks even the 450 black friday price we shouldnt have to re-engineer this.

I completely agree, they should include a new thicker seal.

I bet 99% of Armaspeed intakes are sucking dust straight to the turbo.

I received mine today, checked it with the sensor install in a dark room with a flashlight. No light was coming through like others have said.

Maybe a bad batch and now the issue is fixed.
I ordered mine through A90SHOP.

Where did you guys go?

Put a glove on each end and the sensor mounted and suck on the pcv tube, its hard to see light unless its a really bright flashlight.

I got mine from speed industry and they checked the others they had instock and they were the same. no seal.

When i mounted the temp sensor to my HKS the stock oring compressed as the sensor was tightened down. Night and day vs the Armaspeed.
