2.0 Supra ECM Tuning Related Items
- Currently the JB4 or other related "piggybacks" are your best cost effective route if you desire to up the boost on your 2.0 B48 Supra. Some love the simple piggyback signal modifier and some do not. You can also send your ECM to FEMTO (ie; The motherf**kin Kremlin) through a vendor to have it unlocked and then flashed with an off-the-shelf map or custom tuned. This method will be pricey and I have not seen this route taken by any US B48 owners as of yet...

2.0 Supra Suspension Components
- Please conduct your own research, however we have found that the majority of suspension related components (ie; lowering springs, Coilovers, end links, sway bars, etc) that work in the 3.0 Supra also work just fine in the 2.0 variant.

Over the past week, I've reached out to a variety of vendors and manufacturers regarding their plans for the 2.0L B48 Supra. Below are their answers...

Status of Manufacturers producing parts for the 2.0L Supra (as of 1/12/21)

- AMS Performance has no current plans to produce parts for the 2.0L Supra

- AWE Tuning currently has no plans, however the 2.0 is on their radar. If they decide to manufacture performance parts, it'll be towards the end of 2021.

- CTS Turbo may develop parts for the 2.0L in the future if they had a car available to them for R&D purposes. As of right now there are no immediate plans for parts for the B48 Supra

- Frequency Intelligent Exhaust (Fi Exhaust) does currently offer performance parts for the 2.0 Supra

- HKS is planning to manufacture performance parts for the 2.0L Supra. No time table available at the moment.

- Injen Technology will produce performance parts for the 2.0 Supra once a vehicle is made available to them for R&D. They're located in Pomona, CA if someone would like to contact them.

- Mishimoto has no current plans to develop performance parts for the 2.0L Supra

- PRL Motorsports has no current plans to develop parts for the 2.0 Supra.

As you can see, the outlook for aftermarket support for the B48 Supra is a tad bleak at the moment. On the plus side, the 2.0L is still very new on the market and ultimately the market is what will dictate and push these companies to develop performance parts.

With that said, there is obviously a spot for some 3rd party company to jump in and claim this section of the market by being first (ish) to get a full line of parts offering for the B48.

Quick Update:

I've reached out to PRL Motorsports, AWE and AMS Performance to inquiry if any of them will be manufacturing performance parts specific to the 2.0L Supra.

- PRL currently has no plans to produce parts for the 2.0L
- AWE currently has no plans to produce parts for the 2.0L, however the 2.0L is on their radar. If they do, it'll be towards the end of 2021.
- Awaiting response from AMS

HKS is planning a lot of components for the B58 and B48.
Enri93.....If i may ask, how long have you had your 2.0 Supra and what is your take on it so far? I have a thread in the forum about choosing between the 2.0/3.0 but most, if not all, of the comments were from 3.0 owners. Obviously, bias. Would you buy the 2.0 all over again and although it has less power, is the overall drive what you were looking for? I am in the market but purchase will be a few months out. When i go to test drive, i want to drive both cars but if the 2.0 can provide what i am looking for, it will be that one.

I have it since October and put around 3000km on it.
My 2.0 is a EUDM SZ-R so it's not comparable to the USDM 2.0 which is more like an SZ. The SZ-R comes with adaptive suspension and e-diff; basically it's like a 3.0 but with less power, no HUD, no parking sensors, 18" wheels.
I chose the 2.0 because in Italy cars are taxed on HP and the difference between a 2.0 and a 3.0 in yearly taxes is literally 3x more. Funny thing is because of this the OTD price for a 2.0 or a 3.0 is basically the same here.
I test drove both and the impression I got is that the 2.0 is much more nimble in daily traffic or mountain roads which we have plenty here.

If not for the tax issue, would you have still gone with the 2.0?

I would be spending more time dealing with traffic here in the states than anything. I have not done a test drive yet.

I've reached out to; CTS Turbo and Injen today to inquiry about manufacturing of 2.0L performance parts. I've yet to receive a response from AMS performance...I'll report back once I receive more information.

Yes i'd go for the 2.0 because I noticed the difference in engine placement and overall agility of the car. If I need more power I can find plenty just with a downpipe+tune. Drag racing isn't a thing here so no one cares to have more than 350hp to have fun.

Received an answer back from Injen technology.

They will be manufacturing performance parts for the 2.0L Supra as soon as they have access to a vehicle. They're located in Pomona, CA 91768 if someone in that area could drop by their location for some R&D.

I'm interested to know if it really won't throw a CEL.
Unfortunately my model has GPF so I will get an alarm anyway.
There's an O2 sensor extension Defouler on the downpipe...Basically pulls the sensor further away from the exhaust stream so the sensor reads at lower Co2 levels.

I also received a response from AMS Performance. They do not have any plans on producing performance parts for the Supra 2.0L variant.

Well, I purchased that Function Werk DP for the 2.0 Supra. Itā€™s looking like I may be more of a beta tester for the unit as I donā€™t believe many have been sold. Iā€™ll report back once I receive it.

Swaybar size is the same between 3.0 and 2.0, I checked in EU specs, so sway bars from 3.0 should fit 2.0 I guess?
I looked on eibach pro kit springs too. I asked Eibach Poland, officially there is no Pro Kit for 2.0 but the springs for 3.0 got same ratings as Z4 M40i version, the same parts numbers, same loads and lowering, so probably springs from Z4 30i will fit with no problem to 2.0 Supra. Eibach service told me they probably will fit but if something doesnt fit they wont refund because its not their official specs. There is spring version both for adaptive and fixed suspension on Z4 30i.

1 more thing about 2.0, I was told it doesnt have an oil cooler from 3.0 so I wonder if fitting oil cooler from 3.0 is possible. Maybe its just plug&play? Any1 could maybe confirm this at local dealer or sth?

And I wonder how does this HKS muffler sounds like.. waiting for some videos
