bench flashing ECU and flash count?

Reached out to a local tuner that has extensive experience with BMW tuning. He mentioned to me that he flashes the ECU directly with his tunes and that bench flashing does not alter the flash count when flashing back and forth.

Never heard this before, but was just curious to know if that was true...

During our bench flash process, we disable the flash counter, yes.
