I was told by Toyota to replace the oil pressure control valve and it that doesn’t fix it then replace the oil pump. The repair looks miserable and the time they want to pay me to do it is unrealistic. I’m praying the valve fixes it.

I had to do both, thankfully under warranty.

As a 18 year Toyota tech I am extremely unhappy to be working on bmws but maybe if I’m lucky it will get bought back before the parts come in.

Report back after you install the oil control valve? I have one I was going to install but have been lazy about it

Did you end up installing the valve?

LOL... I wondered the exact same thing... that must have been an aggressive alignment adjustment.
that was complements of my hammer. Alignment was almost spot on after. I had to adjust front a rear toe. Drove straight as an arrow after.

I installed the valve but that did not work. Replaced the oil pump and that fixed it. Oil pump failure at 13k miles. You guys should be worried

Did you have any consumption? And did this lessen it at all?

I do not own this car I’m a Toyota tech. The customer has been complaining about oil consumption since day one but has passed the test twice so he’s not getting anything from me.

What's the test? The 1000 mile threshold recommendation? Just curious

We do 1100-1300 miles. haven’t seen on fail yet
What is the threshold? Mine failed, they rebuilt my engine. It actually blew up after the rebuild and now I’m awaiting another B58
