I remember when I was about to hit 3600 miles on the car and thought I was in the clear... Then the very next day my car came up with the issue.

For those going down the lemon law route, make sure to read your state law. Every state varies. Try to go through Toyota's dispute resolution program. If they fail to give you a reasonable answer, then either go through the BBB or get a private attorney. Make sure to document everything and include date stamps. Any time the car goes into the shop document it. I had to do this with a 2013 Genesis 3.8 with its crappy manual transmission.

In NC you can pursue the lemon law 24 months to 24,000 miles. Whichever comes first. If the documentation shows everything happened within that time frame, then you're still fine if you go over the time/mileage. Some states also protect people who have a lease.

DO NOT do any work on the car yourself. Don't even tell then that you filled the car up with oil. They will use that against you.

As a matter of fact, if you're on here posting about topping off your oil I'd delete/edit the post right now.
If Toyota issues a TSB about it can you still persue lemon law? Or do they make you follow the TSB even if car goes in multiple times against it?

If they issue a TSB it shouldn't matter. But I would still check up on what your specific state says. The thing that matters in most cases is the amount of time the car has been in the shop or how many times it's been repaired for the same thing.

If it comes down to them replacing the entire engine, I would probably go through their internal resolution program to be put into a 2022. If that doesn't work, then I'd talk to BBB. Swapping out an engine in a brand new car is a huge deal. I was able to pursue the lemon law early with the Genesis Coupe since the transmission was such an integral part of the car.

You can also use this thread as a means of justification for your pursuit of the lemon law when gathering evidence.
this one makes me nervous. Lol.

I really know what Iā€™d do if I had my car in the shop for like 8+ weeks or was looking at an engine replacement or lemon law type of deal.

Iā€™m at 1,820 miles right now and am still at max

We will all know shortly as many of us are approaching 2500-3000 miles.

Are you still on factory oil?

Soooo...at the dealership today...was hoping for good news but the tech said something is definitely going on....
OPENING A CASE WITH TOYOTA!!
Not sure if it's a good or a bad thingā˜¹

Steve
So just an update from this morning...
I actually talked with the tech..he said Toyota is aware of a potential issue....
They have a case open and ongoing for me..
As of now I need to monitor oil level...if oil warning message comes back on take it to the dealership for documentation...

I have no issues with that as I have a dealership 5 minutes from me..

FYI - Thought I was in the clear. I check my oil levels 1-2 times a week. Sunday I was at the full oil indicator. Checked the oil today and was about a .25 liters low. Changed the oil at 1200 miles and am now at 3998. So in 2798 miles I burned about .25 liters. I'm a little worried but my oil consumption doesn't seem too bad. I'll keep monitoring the levels.

Just about 2,000 miles.
About 6 launches, lots of high revving for the pops n bangs, 42 complete laps of Laguna Seca (top speed of 125mph), and oil has been reading full (been checking every couple hundred miles).

Date on the door sill says 12/20.

You got a late model 2021 so your engine probably got good piston rings and rod bearings. Your probably good to go! Congrats!

Your oil level, and miles is almost exactly where I'm at.
